Forward Deployment Engineer (FDE)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Forward Deployment Engineer (FDE) based in India.

This role serves as a technical bridge between core engineering teams and enterprise clients, bringing advanced software, data platforms, and AI-driven solutions into complex production environments. You will lead technical implementations, integrations, and customizations while working closely with client engineering and architecture teams. The position combines hands-on software development with systems integration, troubleshooting, and technical stakeholder management. You will build production-grade solutions to address client-specific requirements and resolve challenging technical issues. Your work will also help shape product improvements by translating real-world deployment challenges into actionable engineering feedback. • Lead technical onboarding, implementation, configuration, and integration activities for enterprise clients, ensuring solutions are successfully adapted to their infrastructure and business requirements.
• Develop clean, robust, production-ready code to bridge functional gaps between core product capabilities and client-specific technical requirements.
• Build and configure integrations, APIs, data pipelines, and supporting infrastructure to enable reliable movement and processing of data across client environments.
• Investigate and resolve complex integration issues, API bottlenecks, system errors, and performance challenges within live or pre-production client environments.
• Collaborate directly with client engineering, architecture, and technical stakeholders to define implementation approaches, establish delivery milestones, and maintain clear technical expectations.
• Rapidly prototype and test technical solutions, adapting implementations as client requirements evolve while maintaining strong engineering and reliability standards.
• Capture recurring deployment challenges, client feedback, and feature requests and translate them into actionable insights for internal product and engineering teams.
• Help move solutions from initial prototypes through successful production deployment, ensuring technical quality, scalability, and operational readiness throughout the process.

Requirements

• Bring 4–8 years of hands-on software development experience, with strong backend engineering skills in Python, Node.js, Java, or comparable technologies.
• Have proven experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and integrating software systems across complex technical environments.
• Demonstrate practical experience with database migrations, data integrations, and cloud infrastructure across platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Possess strong debugging and problem-solving abilities, with experience diagnosing complex distributed-system issues, integration failures, and performance bottlenecks.
• Be comfortable writing efficient, production-quality code under tight timelines and adapting quickly to changing technical requirements.
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both engineering teams and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrate the adaptability and composure required to operate in high-pressure client environments while balancing multiple technical priorities.
• Hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical education, with a strong foundation in software engineering and systems development.
