Virtual Medical Assistant (RN)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Virtual Medical Assistant (RN) based in India.

This is a remote, night-shift opportunity for a nursing professional supporting U.S.-based healthcare clinics.
You will serve as a frontline clinical support resource, assisting patients and healthcare teams through inbound and outbound communication.
The role combines appointment coordination, patient outreach, documentation, and day-to-day communication with onsite clinical personnel.
You will use electronic medical records and digital collaboration tools to ensure accurate, timely, and well-documented interactions.
As you grow in the role, you may receive training in areas such as referrals, authorizations, medical records, prescriptions, eligibility, benefits, and HEDIS.
The position offers an opportunity to build international healthcare operations experience while working in a structured, service-focused environment.
It is well suited to an adaptable nursing professional with excellent English communication skills and a strong commitment to patient service.

• Handle inbound patient calls related to appointment scheduling, rescheduling, clinic information, and other healthcare-related inquiries.
• Conduct outbound calls for appointment reminders, wellness checks, follow-ups, and other patient outreach activities.
• Document all relevant call information accurately in the appropriate electronic medical record (EMR) and ensure onsite personnel and providers have the necessary context.
• Communicate and coordinate with online healthcare personnel and internal team members through Google Chat and other digital collaboration tools.
• Maintain clear, accurate, and timely documentation to support continuity of care and efficient clinic operations.
• Follow established processes and service standards while protecting the accuracy and confidentiality of patient information.
• Participate in training and expand capabilities across healthcare support functions, including referral management, prior authorizations, medical records, prescription coordination, eligibility and benefits, HEDIS, and related activities.
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare teams and adapt to the specific workflows and requirements of the clinics being supported.
• Maintain consistent performance in a remote, high-accountability environment while meeting scheduling, communication, and productivity expectations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent nursing qualification.
• At least 6 months of experience in a healthcare BPO account or comparable healthcare customer support environment.
• Excellent English proficiency, with strong verbal and written communication skills suitable for interacting with patients and U.S.-based healthcare professionals.
• Strong computer literacy, including practical experience with Gmail, Google Sheets, electronic documentation, and digital communication platforms.
• Typing speed of at least 25 words per minute.
• Reliable high-speed internet connection and a stable, professional, and conducive home working environment.
• Ability to work effectively during night shifts and willingness to work weekends and holidays when required by client schedules.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation skills, particularly when handling patient information and EMR notes.
• Ability to remain professional, patient-focused, and composed when managing multiple interactions and competing priorities.
• Physically and technically prepared to perform the responsibilities of a remote healthcare support role.
