AV Design Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an AV Design Engineer based in India.

This is a remote opportunity for an experienced AV professional to design and engineer sophisticated audiovisual solutions for a range of collaboration and technology environments. You will own the technical design of AV systems, from initial requirements and architecture through documentation, installation, and commissioning support. The role combines hands-on engineering expertise with creative problem-solving and close collaboration across project, IT, architectural, and vendor teams. You will work with technologies spanning audio, video, control, conferencing, digital signage, networking, and sound reinforcement. Your designs will directly influence system reliability, usability, scalability, and overall user experience. The position also offers the opportunity to evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to innovative AV solutions within a global, highly collaborative environment.

• Develop end-to-end AV system designs, including signal flow diagrams, rack elevations, device specifications, network topologies, and system architectures.
• Create detailed engineering drawings and design documentation using tools such as Visio and D-Tools.
• Define functional and technical requirements for audio, video, control, conferencing, digital signage, sound reinforcement, and related AV systems.
• Ensure all designs align with relevant industry standards and best practices, including AVIXA, SMPTE, AES, and IT networking principles.
• Research and evaluate emerging AV technologies, recommending hardware and software solutions that enhance reliability, maintainability, and user experience.
• Conduct proof-of-concept testing for new equipment, technologies, and system architectures.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, IT teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure AV solutions meet broader project objectives.
• Participate in client discussions to understand requirements, communicate technical concepts, and present design options.
• Provide engineering guidance throughout construction, installation, configuration, and testing phases.
• Produce comprehensive design packages, including system schematics, bills of materials (BOMs), installation guidelines, control system requirements, and acoustic considerations.
• Support commissioning teams with system tuning, troubleshooting, optimization, and final performance validation.
• Help ensure completed systems meet expectations for performance, usability, reliability, and future scalability.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of professional experience in AV system design, room integration, and/or AV project management.
• Strong understanding of AV system functionality, integration, programming concepts, and deployment techniques.
• Extensive knowledge of video networks, video-over-IP technologies, switching, DSPs, audio distribution, and control processors.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, project management software, and CAD/design tools.
• Experience interpreting technical project documentation, including engineering and architectural drawings, project timelines, acoustical reports, and construction documents.
• AVIXA CTS certification is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and creative problem-solving abilities, with a logical and structured approach to system deployment.
• Ability to manage priorities effectively, remain agile under pressure, and maintain strong organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, combined with a strong customer-service mindset.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote environment and collaborate with geographically distributed teams.
• Candidates must reside in India.
