SSE - Orchestration

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an SSE - Orchestration based in India.

This is an opportunity for a senior backend engineer to design and build scalable orchestration services powering business-critical applications.
You will work hands-on with .NET and NodeJS to develop reliable APIs, microservices, workflows, and distributed backend systems.
The role combines deep software engineering expertise with ownership of complex technical challenges and production-critical components.
You will collaborate closely with product, architecture, and engineering teams to turn business requirements into robust technical solutions.
Your work will directly influence platform scalability, performance, resilience, and long-term maintainability.
You will also contribute to architectural decisions, engineering standards, automation, observability, and technical mentoring.
This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys distributed systems, asynchronous workflows, and solving challenging backend problems in a fast-paced environment.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and orchestration frameworks using .NET/.NET Core and NodeJS.
• Build reliable REST APIs, microservices, workflow components, and integrations supporting business-critical applications.
• Develop orchestration logic that coordinates multiple services, processes, and asynchronous workflows efficiently and reliably.
• Design and implement resilient, fault-tolerant, scalable systems capable of supporting high-volume workloads.
• Partner with product managers, architects, and engineering teams to translate functional requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
• Analyze existing systems, identify performance and reliability bottlenecks, and implement improvements to application efficiency and maintainability.
• Produce clean, modular, reusable, well-tested, production-grade code aligned with software engineering best practices.
• Design integrations between internal and external services and ensure effective service communication and error handling.
• Work with databases and data-access layers to optimize the storage, retrieval, and processing of application data.
• Participate in architecture discussions, technical design reviews, code reviews, and initiatives aimed at improving engineering standards.
• Investigate and resolve complex production incidents while implementing sustainable solutions that prevent recurring issues.
• Contribute to automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring, logging, observability, and overall platform reliability.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and contribute to improving development practices, technical standards, and team capabilities.

Requirements:

• 5–11 years of professional software development experience, with strong experience building and supporting production backend systems.
• Advanced hands-on expertise with .NET/.NET Core and modern backend application development.
• Strong practical experience with NodeJS and the development of scalable backend services.
• Solid foundation in object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, software design principles, and design patterns.
• Demonstrated experience developing REST APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and service integrations.
• Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, service communication, error handling, fault tolerance, scalability, and system reliability.
• Experience with software architecture, debugging, performance optimization, and writing maintainable production-grade applications.
• Strong knowledge of version control, code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, and modern software development practices.
• Ability to independently take ownership of technical problems from system design and implementation through production support.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, including relational database design, schemas, and query optimization, is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB/NoSQL, data modeling, or applications using both relational and NoSQL databases is an advantage.
• Exposure to cloud platforms, containers, Kubernetes, messaging systems, or event-driven architectures is desirable.
• Experience with distributed systems, workflow engines, job scheduling, or orchestration platforms is a plus.
• Familiarity with observability practices, including logging, metrics, tracing, monitoring, and production diagnostics, is beneficial.
• Strong ownership, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to make sound technical decisions in a fast-moving environment.
