Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technology Specialist with over 10 years of experience in designing, developing, and supporting backend and cloud-based applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Node.js, JavaScript, and Azure Cosmos DB, along with a basic understanding of Azure App Service and Azure Function Apps. The role requires a proactive problem-solver with strong communication skills and experience working in Agile
Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js and JavaScript.
Develop, maintain, and consume RESTful APIs for internal and external system integrations.
Work with Azure Cosmos DB for data modelling, querying, optimization, and application data management.
Use a basic understanding of Azure App Service and Azure Function Apps to support application hosting, deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting activities.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, frontend developers, QA teams, and DevOps teams to deliver reliable solutions.
Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle, including requirement analysis, design, development, testing support, deployment, and production support.
Perform code reviews, technical troubleshooting, defect analysis, and root cause analysis for application and production issues.
Follow secure coding standards, development guidelines, source-control practices, and agreed engineering processes.
Contribute to technical documentation, knowledge sharing, reusable components, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Communicate technical progress, risks, dependencies, blockers, and support requirements clearly to stakeholders.
Experience with distributed services or microservices-based architecture.
Exposure to Azure API Management, Application Insights, Azure Monitor, and related Azure services.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, dependency scanning, and DevOps practices.
Exposure to Docker, containerization, messaging services, or event-driven application patterns.
Azure development or cloud certification would be an advantage.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience delivering and supporting enterprise backend or cloud-based applications.
Experience working with cross-functional teams and contributing to technical design and implementation decisions.
Ability to manage technical priorities and deliver quality outcomes with limited supervision.
