Senior Engineer, QE

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Engineer, QE based in India.

This is a senior quality engineering role focused on owning test strategy and coverage for product features. You will act as a strategic quality partner to engineering teams, helping embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle. The role combines hands-on automation, test planning, performance validation, and quality governance across UI, API, and service layers. You will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and platform teams to define testing requirements and sustainable quality practices. You will also explore AI-assisted tools and agentic workflows to accelerate test creation, debugging, and validation. This remote opportunity is suited to an experienced quality engineer who enjoys solving complex testing challenges and helping teams ship reliable software at speed.

• Define and execute comprehensive test strategies across UI, API, and service layers, ensuring appropriate coverage for new and existing functionality.
• Design, build, maintain, and continuously improve reliable test automation frameworks and performance testing suites at scale.
• Partner with software engineers, product managers, and platform teams to establish test requirements and embed quality-by-design practices throughout development.
• Use AI-assisted development tools and agentic workflows to accelerate test authoring, debugging, code review, and quality validation.
• Lead risk assessments, release validations, and root-cause analyses for critical issues, helping teams identify and address quality risks efficiently.
• Implement shift-left testing practices and establish or enforce appropriate quality gates within development workflows.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and optimize test execution to support reliable and efficient software delivery.
• Contribute to sustainable quality engineering practices that enable teams to release confidently while maintaining development velocity.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in software quality engineering or closely related testing roles.
• Deep proficiency in testing TypeScript/JavaScript applications and modern frontend ecosystems such as React and Webpack.
• Expert-level experience with Playwright or comparable browser automation frameworks such as Cypress or Selenium WebDriver for end-to-end testing.
• Strong experience with unit and component testing frameworks, including Vitest, Jest, or React Testing Library.
• Proven ability to design and build test automation frameworks from scratch or significantly evolve existing frameworks for large-scale use.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Buildkite, or GitLab, including integrating and optimizing automated test suites within delivery pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Claude for test development, code review, and debugging.
• Experience with Allure or similar test reporting and analytics platforms.
• Understanding of AI/ML-powered products and the testing challenges associated with non-deterministic outputs, data quality, and model evaluation.
• Familiarity with performance and load testing tools such as k6, Lighthouse, or Artillery.
• Familiarity with visual regression testing tools and approaches, including Percy, Chromatic, or Playwright visual comparisons.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure such as AWS or GCP.
• Experience working in SaaS, fintech, or market intelligence environments is an asset.
