Join NVIDIA's dynamic team as a Senior Hardware Engineer, Power & Thermal Controllers, and help craft the future of computing in Bengaluru. As an NVIDIAN, you'll tackle complex challenges across architecture, silicon, firmware, software, and production, demonstrating your outstanding judgment and technical expertise. Our team plays a key role in ensuring NVIDIA silicon products are tuned, configured, and protected from power and thermal excursions. This allows them to operate flawlessly and efficiently within their built limits.
What you will be doing:
Lead the productization of power and thermal controllers from pre-silicon planning through bring-up, tuning, validation, and production.
Collaborate with architecture, design, firmware, and software teams to define controller requirements, identify improvements, and translate new capabilities into production-ready solutions.
Characterize and tune controller behaviour across workloads, operating conditions, silicon variation, and product power and thermal limits.
Correlate silicon behaviour with pre-silicon expectations and resolve complex problems involving silicon, firmware, software, power delivery, thermal, and performance to identify root causes and bring issues to resolution.
Develop and execute tuning strategies that improve power and thermal control while increasing product performance within built operating limits.
Apply AI/ML and data-driven methods to analyze characterization and telemetry data, identify anomalies and trends, accelerate controller tuning, and improve debug efficiency across silicon programs.
What we need to see:
Bachelors/Master in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related area, or equivalent experience.
Over 5+ years of experience in silicon power/performance, post-silicon bring-up, power or thermal controller characterization, productization, or a related hardware field.
Solid grasp of silicon power, performance, and thermal characteristics, encompassing voltage/frequency relationships, workloads, operating conditions, and system constraints.
Hands-on experience with silicon bring-up, characterization, validation, and system-level hardware debugging.
Experience analyzing hardware, firmware, software, power delivery, and thermal interactions and resolving unclear technical problems to their root cause.
Strong data-analysis and problem-solving skills—you can turn silicon measurements into hypotheses, build experiments, and use the results to drive engineering decisions.
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
Extensive background in power or thermal controllers, DVFS, voltage/frequency management, telemetry, throttling, performance management, or silicon protection mechanisms on advanced ASIC/SoC products.
Contributions that improved controller behaviour, silicon performance, power efficiency, thermal management, bring-up, or productization methodology across programs.
Experience connecting controller behaviour across simulation, silicon, firmware, and system-level measurements and converting findings into production tuning.
Experience applying AI/ML to engineering workflows, such as controller tuning, characterization analytics, anomaly detection, or debug assistants deployed beyond personal use.
With every new architecture and process node, balancing performance against power and thermal limits becomes tougher.
