We are looking for an experienced Senior DSP Algorithm Engineer to design, develop, analyse, and optimise advanced Digital Signal Processing (DSP) algorithms for communication, radar, telemetry, aerospace, defence, and research applications.
The role requires strong theoretical foundations in DSP, digital communications, RF systems, probability, estimation theory, and signal processing, combined with the ability to translate research papers, technical standards, and mathematical concepts into practical, high-performance algorithms.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across algorithm development, simulation, software implementation, FPGA-oriented design, and system-level integration.
Requirements
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Study and derive DSP algorithms from IEEE papers, research publications, technical standards, and documentation.
- Develop advanced algorithms for digital communication, radar processing, telemetry, and RF systems.
- Design and implement modulation and demodulation algorithms including PCM/FM, SOQPSK, CPM, QPSK, QAM, and related techniques.
- Develop carrier, symbol, and timing synchronization and recovery algorithms.
- Design and implement channel coding and decoding algorithms such as LDPC, Turbo, and Reed-Solomon.
- Develop filtering, estimation, detection, and signal-analysis algorithms.
- Work on radar signal-processing techniques and real-time signal-processing applications.
- Model and simulate algorithms using MATLAB and Python.
- Translate algorithmic concepts into optimized C/C++ implementations and FPGA-friendly architectures using RTL.
- Validate algorithms through mathematical analysis, simulation, test data, and performance benchmarking.
- Analyse existing implementations and improve accuracy, computational efficiency, latency, robustness, and overall performance.
- Optimise algorithms for FPGA, GPU, embedded processors, and other hardware acceleration platforms.
- Collaborate with FPGA, embedded software, RF, hardware, and systems engineering teams.
- Support algorithm integration, system testing, debugging, and performance evaluation.
- Participate in technical architecture discussions and complex signal-processing problem solving.
- Document algorithms, mathematical approaches, simulation results, implementation details, and performance evaluations.
- Stay current with developments in DSP, communication theory, radar processing, RF technologies, and signal-processing techniques.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and contribute to small technical teams when required.
WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT
