Software Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior SAP S/4HANA Materials Management (MM) Functional Consultant to serve as a subject matter expert in Direct Procurement within the automotive/manufacturing domain. This role will lead the end-to-end requisition-to-order (RTO) stream, translating complex manufacturing supply chain needs into robust, scalable SAP S/4HANA and Fiori configurations.

The Senior SAP MM Functional Consultant will drive activities across the full implementation lifecycle:

• Requirements Engineering & Business Analysis: Lead discovery workshops, conduct Fit/Gap analyses between standard S/4HANA capabilities and Ford's Direct Procurement processes, and document user stories, Epics, and functional requirements.

• Functional Design & Architecture: Author comprehensive Functional Design Documents (FDDs) for direct material procurement workflows, including Scheduling Agreements (LP/LPA), Purchase Orders, Directed Tier-2 sourcing, Subcontracting, and Intercompany stock transfers.

• Technical Collaboration & Build Oversight: Partner with technical software engineering teams (ABAP, SAP Fiori / UI5, Google Cloud Platform / PCF integration middleware) to translate functional requirements into high-quality technical deliverables; review Technical Design Documents (TDDs) and code handoffs.

• Legacy Integration & Ecosystem Interoperability: Design and validate integration points between SAP S/4HANA MM and Ford's legacy non-SAP manufacturing, planning, bill of materials (BOM), and warehouse systems, as well as SAP Ariba (Sourcing & Supply Chain Collaboration).

• End-to-End Testing & Defect Resolution: Architect and execute test strategies covering Functional Unit Testing (FUT), System Integration Testing (SIT), Security/Authorization validation, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT); drive root-cause analysis and defect triage.

• Data Migration & Cutover Readiness: Support master data profiling, cleansing, field mapping, and validation for Direct Procurement data entities (Material Masters, Business Partners/Vendors, Info Records, Source Lists, Quota Arrangements). Assist in cutover simulation and go-live deployment.

• Process Governance & SME Roadmap: Act as Direct Procurement SME to define global template design standards for Ford's automotive manufacturing plants, mitigating localized custom code and ensuring alignment with Clean Core principles.

• Change Enablement & Post Go-Live Support: Develop end-user training materials, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and deliver hypercare and steady-state stabilization across global deployment waves.

• Core SAP S/4HANA MM Expertise: Deep functional and configuration knowledge of Direct Material Requisitioning, Automated PO Generation, Scheduling Agreements with Release Documentation (FRC/JIT delivery schedules), Evaluated Receipt Settlement (ERS), Subcontracting, Consignment, and Intercompany STO.

• Automotive / Manufacturing Direct Procurement: Comprehensive grasp of automotive supply chain dynamics, plant-floor logistics interfaces, JIT/JIS procurement, directed component tiers (Tier-1 / Directed Tier-2 flows), and plant inventory valuation.

• Integration Knowledge: Strong cross-module integration understanding across SAP MM-PP (MRP / Material Requirements Planning), MM-SD/LE (Logistics Execution / Inbound Deliveries), MM-FI/CO (Account Determination, GR/IR clearing, Product Costing), and MM-QM (Quality Inspection / Goods Receipt).

• Modern SAP Ecosystem: Proficiency with SAP Fiori role-based apps, SAP Ariba Strategic Sourcing & Supply Chain Collaboration (SCC), B2B EDI communication (EDIFACT/ANSI X12 via IDocs, APIs, OData services), and SAP Activate agile delivery methodology.

• Total Professional Experience: 7 to 10 years of overall IT / enterprise application implementation experience.

• SAP Functional MM Experience: 5 to 7 years of hands-on functional design, configuration, and testing experience in SAP MM.

• Full Lifecycle Implementations: Demonstrated participation in at least 1–2 full lifecycle implementations of SAP S/4HANA (Greenfield, Brownfield, or Central Finance/iERP deployment) including Fiori interface rollout.

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, Business Information Technology, or related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).

• Leadership & Communication: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional global teams (IT, business stakeholders, system integrators), facilitate requirements workshops, and communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical leaders.

• Problem Solving: Strong analytical, diagnostic, and root-cause analysis mindset with meticulous attention to detail.
