Project Analyst (Value & Automation) - Enterprise AI

Why we're hiring:

The postholder owns the licence, utilisation and Viva Insights data that underpins executive reporting, and run the Frontier Lab testing rhythm - scanning newly released AI features and products, prototyping them, and turning findings into monthly product notes and costed recommendations. The role is deliberately positioned between the technical and the business: enough depth to test a claim personally, enough stakeholder exposure to translate a business pain point into a feasible solution rather than a promise.

This is a conversion of an existing contract resource who delivered the Copilot rollout data analysis - de-duplicating and reconciling 1,000+ records across HR and tenant sources, identifying the protocol exclusions behind the errors, and getting the dataset to a state senior management could decide from. That work is the proof point for the permanent role.

What you'll be doing:

• Own the licence and user dataset end to end - sourcing, reconciling, de-duplicating and cleaning large HR, Microsoft 365 and tenant records to support Copilot allocation and rollout waves, keeping it audit-clean.
• Build and run automated Viva Insights pipelines and reporting, replacing manual extraction and reconciliation.
• Support the AI value measurement approach from data capture through to the benefit numbers reported to sponsors.
• Maintain Cowork licence, cost and funding models, keeping assumptions documented, current and defensible to Finance, and build cost models for new capabilities so adoption decisions are commercially informed.
• Design and build automations and prototypes using Python, Power Automate, Power Query, Copilot Studio, Dataverse and Microsoft Graph.
• Work directly with teams to surface pain points, demonstrate practical solutions and unblock people testing new workflows.
• Scan new AI product and feature releases continuously, with the Microsoft estate as the priority lane, and produce the first-cut monthly product note: what changed, what it means for WPP.
• Run classification and initial triage into the Frontier Lab pipeline, escalating anything that trips a governance guardrail to the Governance Senior Associate's front-door gate.
• Execute pilots and user acceptance testing to a documented protocol, capturing the evidence behind each decision, and prototype hands-on before recommending - test the claim, then state what it will and will not do.

What you'll need:

• Microsoft AZ-900 and DP-900 or equivalent cloud and data fundamentals.
• Demonstrated ability to take messy, multi-source data - HR, tenant, licensing - and produce a reconciled dataset senior management can decide from.
• Strong Excel and data-handling discipline; working Power BI capability or the aptitude to reach it quickly.
• Analytical curiosity that goes past the surface: asks why this method, this platform, this formula, and can justify the answer.
• Fast learner with a track record of absorbing new tooling and turning it into working output within weeks.
• Problem framing from the stakeholder's perspective - able to sit with a pain point and return options rather than obstacles.
• Evidence-led communication: no capability claimed without having tested it.
• Excellent written English; self-directed operating style with reliable overlap into London hours.
• Comfortable moving between granular data work and a high-level decision conversation, and increasingly able to judge which the moment needs.
