About the Team and the Role

The Dash team at Ather is responsible for spearheading the connected EV platform and making a splash in the software industry. We are a rapidly growing, constantly improving organization that looks for high levels of ownership in all individuals to drive our smart vehicle technology forward.

This role is for a senior Native Android Developer (Kotlin). You will be part of a team effort to design, develop, and debug complex software for our EV’s smart applications. It’s a fun and unique opportunity to be at the forefront of the emerging EV industry, applying existing and new approved technologies to develop cutting-edge solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, code, test, and debug new complex software and significant enhancements.

• Perform peer reviews of input for documentation of new or existing software.

• Translate business requirements into specific technical requirements for implementation.

• Apply and introduce new approved technologies to develop robust software solutions.

• Optimize application performance through benchmarking and regular code tuning.

• Manage offline storage, threading, and performance tuning for smart applications.

• Collaborate with the team to ensure high-quality software delivery and documentation.

• Maintain and improve existing software while ensuring alignment with design principles.

Experience and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

• 4 to 7 years of experience with Android Applications and hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose.

Must Have Competencies

• Demonstrate expert command of Android Jetpack Compose for building modern, reactive user interfaces.

• Apply advanced knowledge of Android design principles, patterns, and best practices to software architecture.

• Utilize a comprehensive understanding of the Android SDK to develop feature-rich applications.

• Implement complex functionalities using Google Maps and various open map services.

Good to have Competencies

• Integrate data from additional hardware sensors such as gyroscopes and accelerometers.

• Maintain and improve code quality through the use of continuous integration pipelines.

• Navigate and customize the AOSP (Android Open Source Project) platform for specific vehicle needs.

• Apply specialized knowledge of automotive app architecture to enhance the vehicle's digital ecosystem.
