• Provide operational leadership for AWS and Microsoft Azure services, covering governance, reliability, security, cost optimization, monitoring, incident response, backup, disaster recovery, and operational readiness.
• Drive hybrid-cloud adoption by identifying appropriate workload placement, migration opportunities, platform standards, automation requirements, and operating controls.
• Ensure infrastructure services meet agreed availability, performance, security, recovery, compliance, and service-level expectations.
• Own major incident readiness and response for the compute tower, including technical escalation, stakeholder communication, problem management, root-cause analysis, and prevention of recurring issues.
• Establish proactive monitoring, observability, event management, capacity forecasting, and operational health reporting across compute, storage, virtualization, and cloud platforms.
• Drive automation and infrastructure-as-code practices to reduce manual effort, improve consistency, accelerate provisioning, strengthen compliance, and increase operational efficiency.
• Develop and maintain standards, policies, procedures, service documentation, architecture guardrails, runbooks, and configuration baselines for the compute portfolio.
• Partner with architecture, cybersecurity, network, database, application, service management, engineering, and business teams to deliver secure and resilient infrastructure solutions.
• Lead platform upgrades, technical debt reduction, end-of-life remediation, vulnerability treatment, patch compliance, and infrastructure refresh programs.
• Manage financial planning for the compute portfolio, including budgets, forecasts, licensing, consumption, hardware and cloud costs, unit-cost transparency, and optimization opportunities.
• Manage strategic suppliers, technology partners, managed service providers, contracts, service reviews, licensing positions, and vendor performance.
• Build, lead, coach, and retain a high-performing multi-skilled infrastructure team, with clear accountability, succession planning, career development, cross-training, and continuous capability improvement.
• Establish measurable operational KPIs and governance routines covering service reliability, incidents, changes, capacity, vulnerabilities, patching, automation, cost, customer experience, and delivery outcomes.
• Communicate strategy, risks, service performance, investment needs, and transformation progress effectively to senior technology and business stakeholders.
• Promote a culture of ownership, collaboration, customer focus, disciplined execution, innovation, and continuous improvement across geographically distributed teams.
Experience Required:
• At least 18 years of progressive experience in infrastructure delivery and operations, with significant leadership responsibility in large, complex enterprise environments.
• Demonstrated experience leading compute infrastructure services across multiple business domains and geographically distributed teams.
• Strong hands-on foundation and leadership experience in on-premises Microsoft Windows Server administration and enterprise Linux server administration.
• Strong experience managing NetApp storage platforms and VMware virtualization environments at enterprise scale.
• Proven experience leading cloud operations in AWS and Microsoft Azure, including governance, reliability, security, cost management, and operational support.
• Experience developing infrastructure strategy, multi-year roadmaps, operating models, transformation plans, business cases, and investment priorities.
• Proven people-management capability, including organization design, workforce planning, performance enablement, coaching, succession planning, and skills development.
• Experience managing major incidents, service continuity, disaster recovery, operational risk, audit requirements, security remediation, and regulatory or compliance obligations.
• Experience driving automation, standardization, observability, self-service, and continuous improvement across infrastructure operations.
• Experience managing budgets, vendor relationships, contracts, licenses, cloud consumption, and operational cost optimization.
• Strong understanding of IT service management practices, including incident, problem, change, configuration, capacity, availability, and service-level management.
• Excellent executive communication, stakeholder management, decision-making, negotiation, and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Ability to translate business priorities into practical infrastructure strategies and measurable operational outcomes.
