LMR Application Support & ROL Testing Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a LMR Application Support & ROL Testing Engineer based in India.

This role combines application support, software testing, scripting, and technical troubleshooting within a specialized telecommunications environment.
You will support users of a Radio Online (ROL) application while helping ensure its reliability, functionality, and ongoing improvement.
The position offers hands-on exposure to integration and system testing in cloud environments and participation in an Agile delivery team.
You will investigate technical issues, manage defects, and contribute to the development and maintenance of application rules and models using JavaScript.
The role also provides opportunities to build expertise through advanced JavaScript training and specialized workshops in ROL testing and CI/CD practices.
You will collaborate closely with technical teams and users, translating complex technical concepts into clear and practical guidance.

• Provide timely technical support to users of the Radio Online application, troubleshooting issues and helping users resolve application-related problems.
• Facilitate application training sessions and explain technical processes and solutions clearly to users with patience and empathy.
• Conduct comprehensive integration and system testing in cloud-based environments to validate application functionality and reliability.
• Identify, document, track, and manage software defects through Jira, collaborating with the Agile team to drive issues toward resolution.
• Work as part of a mature, focused Agile team to refine and continuously improve the application.
• Develop, maintain, and update ROL system rules and models using JavaScript, including variables, loops, functions, and related scripting concepts.
• Support application integration activities and contribute to the testing of system changes and enhancements.
• Participate in advanced JavaScript training and specialized workshops covering ROL testing methodologies and CI/CD practices.
• Collaborate with technical colleagues to investigate issues, improve application performance and reliability, and support ongoing system development.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across application support, testing, development, and user experience.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, information technology, computer science, or another relevant technical discipline with at least 3 years of engineering, IT, or technical experience; alternatively, 5+ years of relevant engineering, IT, or technical experience.
• Experience in application support, software testing, IT operations, technical support, or a related technical environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical problems systematically and work effectively with users to understand and resolve issues.
• Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts and procedures clearly to both technical and non-technical users.
• Comfortable working collaboratively within an Agile development or support environment.
• Familiarity with defect tracking and issue-management tools such as Jira.
• Ability and willingness to work with JavaScript, including fundamental programming concepts such as variables, loops, and functions.
• Interest in developing expertise in application testing, CI/CD practices, and specialized ROL testing techniques.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to learn new technologies and domain-specific systems quickly while adapting to evolving technical requirements.
• Knowledge or experience with ASTRO 25, MOTOTRBO, MCC 7500E, or AXS Consoles is an advantage.
• Previous experience with Radio Online (ROL), Land Mobile Radio (LMR), public safety communications, or related telecommunications systems is a plus.
