The Director, Innovation DBSL is responsible for promoting, leading, and sustaining implementation of the Danaher Business System across a newly formed R&D organization. This role will partner with global and IDC-based leaders to build a culture of innovation, improve new product development execution, and create a culture of continuous improvement, servant leadership, and measurable business impact. They are responsible for participating in and improving the quality of the Cepheid Certified Practitioner (CP) community, growing the community in a specific tool or increasing a given tool capacity in alignment with business needs.

This position reports to the Sr. Director DBS Innovation and is part of the Cepheid DBS team located in IDC, Bengaluru and will be an on-site role.  

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Partner with Cepheid R&D, and global leaders to define and deploy the DBS Innovation and Growth tools for the global product development and lifecycle management teams.
• Drive improvement in core innovation measures such as on-time delivery, project predictability, portfolio throughput, quality, resource visibility, and innovation productivity.
• Create and manage a DBS roadmap that links business needs and innovation challenges to practical improvement initiatives.
• Develop kaizen funnels, charter high-impact kaizens, facilitate events, and ensure sustainment of results through clear ownership and follow-up mechanisms.
• Coach leaders, functional managers, project leaders, and associates on DBS tools, behaviors, and operating mechanisms.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Life Sciences, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline; advanced degree such as MS, MBA, or PhD preferred.
• 15+ years (Bachelor’s and 10+ for Masters) of progressive experience in product development, R&D leadership, program management, innovation excellence, continuous improvement, or equivalent operating system leadership.
• Demonstrated experience leading large-scale transformational initiatives in R&D, innovation, medical technology, diagnostics, software, or regulated product development environments.
• Proven ability to apply DBS fundamentals or equivalent continuous improvement methods to NPD and innovation processes to deliver measurable business results.
• Strong ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional teams without direct authority.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Deep knowledge of DBS, Lean Product Development, Lean Six Sigma, Daily Management, Visual Project Management, Standard Work, and Problem-Solving Process.
• Experience in molecular diagnostics, medical devices, healthcare technology, life sciences, or other regulated product development environments.
