FP&A Expert

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a FP&A Expert based in India .

This is a specialized opportunity for an experienced FP&A professional with deep, hands-on expertise in Financial Forecaster.
You will apply your financial planning, reporting, forecasting, and analytical expertise to evaluate and improve AI-agent performance.
The role combines practical FP&A knowledge with detailed model interpretation, financial reporting, covenant analysis, and data validation.
You will review realistic agent-generated work and determine whether conclusions are correct at the right scenario, account, coordinate, and accounting basis.
You will help create challenging, authentic financial tasks that reflect real-world forecasting, lender reporting, and compliance workflows.
The position requires strong judgment and the ability to identify plausible but technically incorrect answers that may be missed by non-experts.
This is a fully remote independent contractor opportunity with flexible scheduling and project-based engagement.

• Review and quality-assure completed AI-agent workflows in Financial Forecaster, assessing whether each response is accurate against the underlying financial model and supporting documents, including the scenario, account, coordinate, accounting basis, conclusion, and required deliverable.
• Identify agent failure modes by determining where and why an agent succeeds too easily, produces an incorrect result, or completes a task without genuinely using the Financial Forecaster environment.
• Improve the realism and difficulty of financial tasks by refining prompts and seeded financial scenarios so they accurately reflect authentic FP&A, forecasting, lender-reporting, covenant, and financial analysis workflows.
• Develop and refine grading guidance to ensure correct answers pass and incorrect answers fail, including identifying critical errors involving scenarios, forecast vintages, accounting bases, covenant add-backs, model updates, and conclusions already revealed by source documents.
• Identify plausible-but-wrong answers that may appear reasonable to a non-expert, such as figures reported at the wrong level of detail, incorrect units or periods, or conclusions that conflict with the broader financial reporting package.
• Apply expert knowledge of multidimensional financial models, scenario hierarchies, account structures, assumptions, data imports, notes, reporting packs, and governing documents when evaluating agent outputs.
• Assess financial measures and reporting conclusions across GAAP, non-GAAP, covenant, forecast, and projection contexts, recognizing the accounting and disclosure standards that determine how information should be interpreted.

Requirements:

• Frequent hands-on experience with Financial Forecaster for real forecasting, covenant, reporting, or related financial work, with regular usage of the platform at least weekly in a current or recent professional role.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in FP&A, financial reporting, technical accounting, treasury, lender reporting, or controllership, such as an FP&A analyst or manager, financial reporting analyst, technical accounting analyst, treasury or lender-reporting analyst, or controller.
• Ability to interpret a Financial Forecaster model fluently, including distinguishing inputs from calculations, identifying overrides, understanding scenario inheritance, recognizing the governing forecast vintage, and determining whether a figure ties correctly at its stated level of detail.
• Strong understanding of Financial Forecaster scenario and import mechanics, including scenario creation and locking, parent-child relationships, CSV imports, unit and scale requirements, assumptions, notes, saved views, and large-result exports.
• Strong financial analysis and reconciliation skills, including the ability to identify thousands-versus-dollars discrepancies, period mismatches, LTM versus fiscal-year-to-date differences, incorrect aggregation levels, and other factors that can produce materially incorrect results.
• Sound professional judgment and confidence in evaluating financial work, including the ability to reject an answer that appears reasonable but is inconsistent with the underlying model, documents, accounting basis, or governing scenario.
• Strong understanding of entity structures, financial reporting relationships, covenant calculations, credit agreements, borrowing bases, compliance certificates, and the distinction between legal entities, departments, segments, and consolidated results.
• Familiarity with GAAP, non-GAAP, and covenant measures, as well as relevant financial reporting concepts such as going concern, operating segments, materiality, KPI disclosures, MD&A requirements, forecasts, projections, and valuation allowances.
• Experience with credit agreement compliance and borrowing base reporting, going concern or impairment analysis, segment reporting, SEC reporting, disclosure committee processes, or working across multiple financial models and entities is a strong advantage.
• A CPA, CFA, or MBA is welcome but not required; experienced FP&A professionals and technical accounting specialists are encouraged to apply.
