Security Engineer (Support)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Security Engineer (Support) based in India.

This is a fully remote opportunity for a security-focused professional supporting information security operations across a distributed organization.
You will manage security tickets, perform initial incident triage, and help ensure issues are resolved within established service levels.
The role combines technical support, security operations, access management, monitoring, documentation, and process improvement.
You will collaborate closely with security, IT, engineering, and GRC teams while serving as an important first point of contact for security events.
The position offers the opportunity to strengthen security processes, automate repetitive tasks, and build practical knowledge through real-world incidents.
Success requires strong troubleshooting, organization, communication, and the ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
The role can be performed from anywhere in India, with occasional travel to Hyderabad for planned events.

• Manage the information security ticketing process, ensuring tickets are accurately logged, categorized, prioritized, assigned, monitored, and resolved within established SLAs.
• Serve as the initial point of contact for security events, conducting Tier 1 triage and escalating relevant incidents to the Security Operations team.
• Provide technical support to employees and internal teams on security-related issues and assist with deploying and configuring security tools according to established procedures.
• Investigate security alerts and technical issues, document resolutions and workarounds, and contribute to a knowledge base for recurring problems.
• Review and improve ticket-management processes, including prioritization, escalation, resolution procedures, and reporting.
• Generate and analyze ticket metrics such as response times, resolution times, recurring issues, and emerging trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support security awareness initiatives by helping employees understand how to report security events and requests.
• Collaborate with GRC and other teams on security training, awareness programs, and best practices.
• Maintain accurate and accessible security documentation and prepare regular reports on ticket status, trends, recurring issues, and areas of concern.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in IT support, security operations, information security, or a related field, including experience managing ticketing systems.
• Strong understanding of information security principles, common security threats, and security best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve security incidents and technical issues effectively.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks in a structured manner.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
• Strong critical-thinking, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fully remote environment.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, ITIL, or similar are advantageous.
• A service-oriented mindset, with a commitment to delivering a strong experience to colleagues and internal stakeholders.
• Adaptability and willingness to learn as business requirements, technologies, and security needs evolve.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across remote environments using tools such as Slack, Zoom, and Google Workspace.
• Coaching, mentoring, and people-development capabilities are a plus.
