About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated Forward Deployment Engineer (FDE) to work directly with customers in identifying business challenges, designing AI-powered solutions, building rapid prototypes, and accelerating production deployments.
As a Forward Deployment Engineer, you will operate at the intersection of business, technology, and customer success. You will collaborate with customer stakeholders, solution architects, product teams, and engineers to transform ideas into working solutions using AWS and Generative AI technologies.
This is a highly customer-facing role that combines the responsibilities of a consultant, solution architect, prototype developer, and AI engineer. The ideal candidate is comfortable engaging with CXOs, business users, and engineering teams while rapidly transforming ideas into working AI solutions.
The role requires strong problem-solving abilities, technical depth, business acumen, and exceptional communication skills. Success in this role depends on the ability to navigate ambiguity, quickly understand customer environments, and deliver measurable business outcomes through innovative AI solutions.
This role may require short-term or long-term deputation at customer locations across India and internationally, depending on project requirements. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working closely with customer teams on-site during discovery, solution design, deployment, and adoption phases.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Discovery & Problem Solving
- Engage directly with customer stakeholders to understand business processes, operational challenges, and strategic objectives.
- Conduct workshops and discovery sessions to identify high-value AI, automation, and cloud transformation opportunities.
- Translate ambiguous business problems into clearly defined technical requirements and solution approaches.
- Develop strong relationships with customer teams and become a trusted technology advisor.
Solution Design & Architecture
- Design practical AI and cloud-based solutions aligned with customer business objectives.
- Create process maps, user journeys, workflow diagrams, and solution blueprints.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects and technical teams to define scalable implementation approaches.
- Recommend appropriate AI patterns such as RAG, AI Agents, Workflow Automation, Knowledge Assistants, Intelligent Search, and Conversational AI.
Rapid Prototyping & Deployment
- Build proof-of-concepts (POCs), prototypes, and MVPs using AWS services such as:
- Amazon Bedrock
- AWS Lambda
- Amazon S3
- API Gateway
- DynamoDB
- OpenSearch
- ECS/EKS
- Develop integrations with enterprise systems and third-party platforms.
- Rapidly iterate solutions based on customer feedback.
- Support transition from prototype to production deployment.
AI & Agentic Solution Development
- Develop GenAI and Agentic AI solutions leveraging foundation models and orchestration frameworks.
- Design prompt strategies, evaluation frameworks, and retrieval pipelines.
- Build and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) applications and AI assistants.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve solution reliability, scalability, governance, and performance.
Customer Enablement & Adoption
- Demonstrate prototypes and solutions to both technical and business stakeholders.
- Support customer onboarding and adoption of deployed solutions.
- Conduct workshops, training sessions, and solution walkthroughs.
- Gather customer feedback and continuously improve deployed solutions.
Collaboration & Knowledge Management
- Work closely with Presales, Delivery, Product, and Engineering teams.
- Document solution architectures, workflows, implementation approaches, and best practices.
- Contribute reusable accelerators, frameworks, and reference architectures to the Center of Innovation.
- Support proposal development and technical solution articulation during customer pursuits.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 5–8 years of experience in Solution Engineering, Technical Consulting, Business Analysis, Product Engineering, Presales, or similar customer-facing technical roles.
- Strong ability to understand business processes and translate them into technical solutions.
- Experience conducting customer discovery workshops, requirements gathering sessions, and business process assessments.
- Hands-on experience building applications, integrations, or prototypes on AWS.
- Strong understanding of Generative AI concepts including:
- Large Language Models (LLMs)
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
- Prompt Engineering
- AI Agents
- Knowledge Retrieval Systems
- Hands-on experience with one or more AI frameworks and platforms including:
- Amazon Bedrock
- OpenAI
- Anthropic

- Similar GenAI and Agentic AI frameworks
- Experience designing and building customer-facing Proof of Concepts (POCs), prototypes, and innovation workshops.
- Exposure to enterprise integrations, APIs, SaaS platforms, and workflow automation solutions.
- Previous experience in consulting, presales, customer engineering, solution consulting, or startup environments.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in ambiguous environments and rapidly iterate solutions based on customer feedback.
- Experience documenting requirements, workflows, solution architectures, and implementation approaches.
- Willingness to travel and work from customer locations across India and internationally as required by project engagements.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with customer stakeholders, distributed teams, and cross-functional organizations in dynamic environments.
Desired but Not Must-Have Qualifications
- AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional certification.
- Experience with Agentic AI architectures and multi-agent systems.
- Experience building production-grade AI applications on AWS.
- Familiarity with MCP (Model Context Protocol), AI evaluation frameworks, and observability tools.
- Exposure to UI/UX design, Figma, workflow design, or design thinking methodologies.
- Experience with vector databases such as OpenSearch, Pinecone, Weaviate, or Chroma.
- Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud-native application architectures.
- MBA or product management experience.
- Experience contributing to SaaS products, internal platforms, or reusable accelerators.
- Experience speaking at webinars, workshops, technical events, or customer innovation sessions.
