Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Laravel Developer who can take ownership of backend development, database architecture, RESTful API development, and application performance. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with PHP and Laravel, a solid understanding of scalable application architecture, and the ability to deliver secure, maintainable, and high-performing solutions.
This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams and direct interaction with clients to understand requirements, discuss technical solutions, provide updates, and communicate complex technical concepts clearly. Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance web applications using PHP and Laravel.
- Take ownership of backend architecture, application logic, database design, and RESTful API development.
- Build and maintain real-time data communication features using Server-Sent Events (SSE) or WebSockets, wherever required.
- Integrate frontend components and third-party services, including payment gateways, with backend systems.
- Communicate directly with clients to gather and clarify requirements, explain technical approaches, discuss challenges, and provide project updates.
- Design, optimize, and maintain relational databases, including complex queries, indexing, and performance optimization.
- Implement authentication, authorization, data validation, and other application security measures.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues, perform root-cause analysis, and improve application reliability and performance.
- Contribute to technical planning, effort estimation, and implementation decisions.
- Participate in code reviews, mentor junior developers, and promote coding standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, mobile app developers, QA engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders.
- Stay updated with Laravel releases, emerging technologies, and industry best practices.
Technical Skills & Requirements
Must-Have Skills
- 5–8 years of professional experience in PHP and Laravel development.
- Strong proficiency in PHP, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), SOLID principles, design patterns, and clean code practices.
- In-depth understanding of Laravel architecture, including MVC, middleware, service containers, queues, events, jobs, and exception handling.
- Hands-on experience in developing and maintaining RESTful APIs and integrating third-party services.
- Strong understanding of relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MS SQL Server, including database design, indexing, and query optimization.
- Familiarity with application security, including secure authentication, authorization, input validation, and protection against common web vulnerabilities.
- Excellent English communication skills, with the confidence to interact directly with international or domestic clients, understand business requirements, explain technical solutions, and manage technical discussions.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, ownership, collaboration, and a proactive approach to development.
Additional Advantages
- Kubernetes: Familiarity with container orchestration, deployments, scaling, and application management.
- DevOps: Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, infrastructure, monitoring, and application release workflows.
- Laravel Livewire: Experience building dynamic, interactive interfaces using Laravel Livewire.
- Laravel Filament: Experience developing admin panels, dashboards, and internal tools using Laravel Filament.
- Familiarity with Laravel Horizon for queue monitoring and management, Laravel Telescope for debugging, and Spatie Media Library for file and media management.
- Familiarity with Vue.js or React.js for frontend integration.
- Familiarity with Laravel testing tools and frameworks, such as PHPUnit or Pest.
Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech./M.E./M.Tech. in Computer Engineering or a related discipline.
- BCA/MCA or an equivalent qualification with relevant professional experience..
