Job Description
• Work closely with development teams and product managers to ideate software solutions and translate requirements into working features.
• Design both client-side and server-side architecture, and build appealing, mobile-responsive front-ends with clean, reusable UI components.
• Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications, and write effective, well-structured REST APIs.
• Test software for responsiveness and efficiency by writing and running unit test cases across the stack.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software, including investigating and resolving issues reported in production.
• Implement security and data-protection settings, and follow best practices for handling sensitive data.
• Write clear technical documentation and work effectively in an agile environment (sprint planning, Jira, code reviews).
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (final-year students and strong self-taught/bootcamp candidates welcome).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities — able to break a problem down, reason through edge cases, and arrive at a clean solution.
• Effective communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
• Strong ability to understand impacts across a complex, multi-system environment.
• Eagerness to learn, take feedback, and grow quickly on the job.
Must Have
• React.js, HTML, CSS, JavaScript & TypeScript — comfortable building responsive, component-based UIs and a genuine understanding of the language, not just copied snippets.
• Node.js or Python (FastAPI) — able to write a basic backend endpoint and understand the request/response cycle.
• Working knowledge of AI dev tools like Claude or Cursor — you've used them to write or debug code, and you know how to prompt them and verify the output you ship.
• Database knowledge — SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and MongoDB — able to model data and write queries against both relational and NoSQL stores.
• Strong programming fundamentals — logic, problem-solving, and data structures and algorithms. • Git — clone, branch, commit, push, and raise pull requests as part of a normal workflow.
• A real project portfolio — academic, personal, hackathon, or open-source work we can look at (GitHub or deployed demos). This matters more than years of experience. Good to Have • Next.js or Vue.js — exposure to either framework beyond plain React.
• Go (Golang) and Django — any hands-on experience on the backend side.
• Cloud experience (AWS or GCP) — even just deploying and running a side project.
• Building with AI SDKs — LLM APIs, agent/tooling SDKs, or adding AI-powered features to a project.
• Redis and Kafka — exposure to caching, queues, or event streaming. • An internship or freelance project where you shipped something real to users
