SAP Basis Migration & Database Expert
Job Description
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced SAP Basis Migration & DB Expert with strong expertise in SAP system migrations, database administration, and landscape transformation projects. The candidate will lead migration initiatives including OS/DB migrations, SAP upgrades, and S/4HANA conversion programs.
The role requires deep knowledge of SAP Basis, database platforms, and migration tools within SAP S/4HANA and legacy SAP environments.
Experience Required:
8–14+ Years in SAP Basis & Database Administration
Multiple end-to-end migration project experience
Key Responsibilities
Lead SAP system migrations (Homogeneous / Heterogeneous)
Perform OS/DB migration using Software Update Manager (SUM)
Execute SAP upgrades, enhancement packs, and patching
Plan and execute SAP S/4HANA conversion projects
Perform Unicode conversions
Handle system copy, refresh, and landscape transformation
Database migration to SAP HANA
Kernel upgrades and performance tuning
Ensure minimal downtime and business continuity
Coordinate with infrastructure, network, and security teams
Prepare migration runbooks and cutover plans
Database Expertise Required
Strong hands-on experience in at least one of:
SAP HANA
Oracle Database
Microsoft SQL Server
Backup & recovery strategies
Performance monitoring and optimization
High Availability (HA) & Disaster Recovery (DR) setup
Required Technical Skills
Strong SAP architecture knowledge (3-tier landscape)
Experience with SUM, DMO, SWPM tools
Knowledge of Linux/Unix administration
Experience with SAP Router & Transport Management
Understanding of RISE with SAP (preferred)
Exposure to cloud migration (AWS/Azure/GCP
