Job Description
Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled IBM LSF / HPC Scheduler Engineer with hands-on experience in cluster scheduling, license management, and queue infrastructure. The candidate will be responsible for managing high-performance computing (HPC) environments using IBM Spectrum LSF and related accelerator tools.
Experience Required:
5–10 Years in HPC / Scheduler Administration
Strong hands-on experience in production environments
Key Responsibilities
Administer and manage HPC scheduler environments using:
IBM Spectrum LSF
Altair Accelerator
Portable Batch System (PBS)
Slurm
Configure and maintain queue infrastructure and scheduler clusters
Perform cluster and node provisioning
Estimate, monitor, and provision resources (CPU, memory, storage) based on historical job execution analysis
Implement workload optimization and capacity planning strategies
Develop and maintain Bash scripts for automation and job management
License & Monitoring Responsibilities
Manage license servers using:
FlexNet Publisher (FlexLM)
Monitor license utilization and ensure optimal allocation
Handle license server troubleshooting and availability management
Integrate license tracking with scheduler policies
Diagnostics & Job Management
Perform diagnostics using Altair FlowTracer
Track job lifecycle and validate execution scripts
Manage queue balancing and task routing
Perform job state reconciliation and issue resolution
Ensure efficient job execution and resource utilization
Required Technical Skills
Strong expertise in IBM LSF / Altair Accelerator / PBS / Slurm
Deep understanding of HPC queue architecture
Bash scripting for automation
Linux system administration
Performance tuning and troubleshooting
Monitoring tools integration (CPU, memory, license usage)
