Job Title: Google Data Engineer
Experience Required: 6+ Years
Job Purpose:
Design, develop, and optimize scalable data solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to support analytics, reporting, and advanced data processing needs. The role involves building robust data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement scalable data architectures on GCP.
Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using:
Cloud Dataflow
Cloud Dataproc
BigQuery
Cloud Composer (Airflow)
Build real-time and batch data processing solutions.
Work with structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.
Optimize BigQuery datasets, queries, and partitioning strategies.
Implement data governance, security, and access control policies.
Develop data models to support BI and analytics use cases.
Integrate GCP services such as:
Pub/Sub
Cloud Storage
Cloud Functions
Cloud SQL / Spanner
Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business teams.
Ensure high data quality, reliability, and performance.
Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues.
Implement CI/CD for data engineering workflows.
Support migration of on-prem or other cloud data platforms to GCP.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
6+ years of experience in Data Engineering.
3+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform.
Strong SQL expertise (advanced BigQuery optimization).
Strong programming skills in Python / Scala / Java.
Experience with distributed data processing frameworks (Spark, Beam).
Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
Experience in handling large-scale data systems.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and version control (Git).
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Google Professional Data Engineer Certification.
Experience with real-time streaming (Pub/Sub + Dataflow).
Knowledge of Terraform or Infrastructure as Code.
Exposure to ML pipelines on GCP.
Experience with data governance tools (e.g., Dataplex, Data Catalog).
