Job Title: AS/400 COBOL Developer
Short Description:
AS/400 COBOL Application Developer responsible for designing, building, and configuring applications to meet business process and application requirements.
Engagement & Project Overview:
The candidate will work on an application development project involving AS/400 COBOL-based applications within the healthcare industry domain. The role requires hands-on development, enhancement, and support of enterprise applications running on the IBM iSeries platform.
Primary Responsibilities:
Design, code, test, and debug applications running on the AS/400 platform using CL, COBOL, and RPG.
Demonstrate strong programming skills on the iSeries platform:
Develop and analyze programs using COBOL, SQLCOBOL, CBLLE.
Work with Control Language (CLP/CLLE).
Utilize strong SQL knowledge:
Analyze and modify complex SQL queries.
Work with embedded SQL in SQLCOBOL.
Perform cursor-based programming.
Work with database concepts:
Create and analyze Physical Files and Logical Files.
Develop SQL tables, indexes, views, and stored procedures.
Communicate effectively with business users and take full ownership of assigned tasks.
Adhere to quality standards and best practices.
Work independently with minimal supervision.
Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in SYNON.
