Key Responsibilities
Data Pipeline Development:
Build robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Apache Airflow for orchestrating workflows across GCP services.
Data Warehousing:
Design and optimize BigQuery schemas, partitioning strategies, clustering, materialized views, and query performance tuning.
Data Processing:
Implement scalable data processing on Dataproc (Spark/Hive), including job configuration and cost optimization.
Data Ingestion & Storage:
Manage ingestion from APIs, batch files, and streaming sources; design storage strategies using Cloud Storage (lifecycle policies, tiers, security).
Quality & Observability:
Implement validation checks, logging, alerting, and SLA monitoring for pipelines.
Security & Governance:
Apply IAM, service accounts, VPC Service Controls, CMEK, and governance standards across GCP resources.
Cost & Performance Optimization:
Optimize queries, cluster utilization, and storage; leverage reservations and job-level tuning for cost efficiency.
Collaboration & Documentation:
Work with analytics, product, and business teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions; maintain documentation and handover materials.
