Job Title: Google Cloud PostgreSQL Engineer

Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Google Cloud PostgreSQL Engineer who will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing PostgreSQL database solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The role involves migrating database workloads, optimizing performance, and ensuring high availability, security, and reliability of PostgreSQL environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement PostgreSQL database solutions on PostgreSQL using Google Cloud SQL or bare-metal solutions on Google Cloud Platform.
Plan and execute migrations of PostgreSQL workloads from on-premises environments or other cloud platforms to Google Cloud.
Configure networking, storage, and security for PostgreSQL workloads within GCP environments.
Integrate PostgreSQL databases with GCP services such as Google Cloud Storage, Google Cloud IAM, and Google Cloud VPC.
Monitor and optimize database performance, availability, and cost efficiency.
Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies for PostgreSQL databases.
Troubleshoot issues related to PostgreSQL deployments, migrations, and performance tuning.
Required Technical Skills (Must-Have)
Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and Google Cloud Platform services.
In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture, replication, and performance tuning.
Experience with workload migration strategies and hybrid-cloud architectures.
Proficiency with GCP services such as Google Compute Engine, networking, IAM, and Cloud SQL.
Strong understanding of networking concepts including VPN, firewall, and routing.
Automation and Infrastructure-as-Code experience using Terraform or Ansible.
Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Strong documentation and stakeholder communication abilities.
