Job Description – DOCSIS Engineer
Location: Chennai / Hyderabad / Kolkata
Experience: 5–8 Years
Overview:
We are looking for a skilled DOCSIS Engineer with strong expertise in broadband technologies and cable networks. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in DOCSIS architecture, troubleshooting, and support of cable modem networks.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, configure, and support DOCSIS-based broadband networks
Troubleshoot issues related to cable modems, CMTS, and network performance
Analyze and resolve connectivity, latency, and throughput issues
Work on provisioning, configuration, and firmware upgrades
Monitor network health and ensure high availability and performance
Collaborate with cross-functional teams for issue resolution and enhancements
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures
Maintain documentation and adhere to operational standards
Required Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of DOCSIS (3.0/3.1) architecture and protocols
Hands-on experience with CMTS (Cisco, Arris, or similar)
Understanding of RF fundamentals and HFC (Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial) networks
Experience in network troubleshooting and performance tuning
Knowledge of IP networking (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS)
Familiarity with monitoring and diagnostic tools
Preferred Skills:
Experience in telecom or broadband service providers
Knowledge of SNMP, network monitoring tools
Exposure to automation/scripting (Python, Shell)
Understanding of IPv6 and advanced networking concepts
