Job Title: OpenVMS COBOL Engineer
Experience: 4–10 Years
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled OpenVMS COBOL Engineer with 4–10 years of experience in COBOL development on OpenVMS platforms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in application design, maintenance, and enhancement, along with strong troubleshooting and scripting capabilities to support enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, maintain, and enhance COBOL applications on OpenVMS
Provide application support and troubleshooting for OpenVMS-based systems
Perform maintenance and enhancement activities on legacy systems
Develop and maintain DCL scripts for automation and operational support
Work with database systems (Oracle RDB or similar) for data querying and integration
Participate in application modernization initiatives
Collaborate with technical and application teams to resolve system issues
Maintain documentation related to system functionality and enhancements
Mandatory Skills (Must-Have)
Hands-on experience in OpenVMS application design, implementation, and support
Strong experience in COBOL development on OpenVMS
Experience with DCL scripting for automation and operational tasks
Experience with Oracle RDB or similar databases
Hands-on experience with Micro Focus COBOL
