Role: FinOps Engineer / FinOps Analyst
Location: Pan India
Experience: 5–10 Years
Key Responsibilities:
Implement and manage FinOps practices to optimize cloud spending and financial accountability.
Monitor, analyze, and report cloud usage and cost trends across multiple cloud platforms.
Develop and maintain cost optimization strategies to improve cloud efficiency.
Work closely with engineering, finance, and operations teams to ensure cost visibility and governance.
Design and maintain budgets, forecasts, and cost allocation models.
Implement cost controls, alerts, and automated policies to prevent overspending.
Create dashboards and reports to track cloud financial performance.
Identify opportunities for resource optimization, rightsizing, and reserved instance planning.
Support chargeback/showback models across business units.
Ensure compliance with organizational cloud financial policies.
Required Technical Skills:
Strong experience in Cloud Financial Management (FinOps).
Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform:
AWS
Azure
GCP
Experience with cloud cost management tools such as:
AWS Cost Explorer
Azure Cost Management
GCP Billing Tools
Apptio Cloudability
CloudHealth
Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
Experience with cost optimization techniques (rightsizing, savings plans, reserved instances).
Proficiency in Excel, SQL, or data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
Understanding of tagging strategies and cost allocation frameworks.
Preferred Skills:
FinOps Certified Practitioner or related certification.
Experience working in multi-cloud environments.
Knowledge of automation and scripting (Python, PowerShell).
Understanding of DevOps and Cloud Architecture concepts.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration abilities.
Ability to translate financial insights into technical recommendations.
Attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
