Job Description:

The Data Lake Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and operating scalable, secure, and high‑performance data lake solutions that enable analytics, reporting, and advanced data use cases. This role focuses on end‑to‑end data engineering—from ingestion and data modeling to transformation, optimization, and data quality—leveraging Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Oracle analytics technologies.

The engineer will work closely with architects, analytics teams, and business stakeholders to ensure trusted, analytics‑ready data is available across the enterprise, while maintaining strong governance, performance, and reliability standards.

Key Responsibilities

Data Lake Architecture & Design

- Design and implement data lake architecture leveraging Oracle ATP, OIC, OCI Services, GoldenGate and Oracle analytics tools.
- Define and maintain standards and patterns for data lake layers, including Landing (Raw), Unified (Consolidated) and Structured (Curated) zones.
- Establish and apply data modeling approaches (normalized, dimensional, and hybrid) aligned with analytics and reporting requirements.

Data Ingestion & Integration

- Build and maintain robust data ingestion pipelines to load massive data from multiple source systems (e.g., F&B POS, enterprise apps, external data providers).
- Support batch and near‑real‑time data ingestion using tools such as OCI Data Integration, Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), OCI Object Storage, REST APIs, GoldenGate and file‑based loads.
- Ensure preservation of source data fidelity, metadata, and audit attributes (e.g., load timestamps, source system identifiers, record counts).

Data Processing, Transformation & Modeling

- Transform raw data into cleansed, conformed, and analytics‑ready datasets.
- Develop business‑friendly schemas, dimensions, and fact tables that support reporting, dashboards, and advanced analytics use cases.
- Implement data enrichment, harmonization, and reference data management logic to ensure consistency across domains.

Data Quality, Governance & Reliability

- Implement data quality validations, reconciliation controls, and comprehensive error‑handling mechanisms.
- Monitor ingestion and transformation processes to ensure data completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Collaborate with governance and security teams to ensure compliance with data privacy, retention, and access control policies.

Performance Optimization & Operations

- Optimize SQL, indexing strategies, partitioning, external tables, and materialized views to ensure high performance and scalability within Oracle ATP.
- Support operational monitoring, troubleshooting, and tuning of data pipelines and analytics workloads.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

- Partner with analytics, data science, and reporting teams to enable self‑service analytics and advanced insights.
- Translate business requirements into scalable data engineering solutions.
- Provide documentation, knowledge transfer, and best‑practice guidance to internal teams.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Design and implement data lake architecture leveraging Oracle ATP, OCI services, GoldenGate and Oracle analytics tools.
- Define standards and patterns for Landing (Raw), Unified (Consolidated) and Structured (Curated) data layers.
- Establish data modeling approaches (normalized, dimensional, and hybrid models) aligned with analytics and reporting needs.

- Experience getting data from MS SQL Server Database and My SQL (Optional)

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), OCI Data Integration, GoldenGate or similar integration platforms.
- Experience getting data from MS SQL Server Database and My SQL
- Familiarity with near‑real‑time or streaming data architectures.
- Experience supporting analytics platforms, BI tools, or data science workloads.
- Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
- Experience working in Agile or product‑centric delivery models.
