Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our team developing software for Radar and Electronic Warfare (EW) systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building applications for mission-critical and safety-critical systems, with strong programming fundamentals and exposure to certification standards such as DO-178B/C. This role involves working across the full software development lifecycle — from design and coding to review and verification — in a Linux-based embedded environment.
Key Responsibilities
•Design, develop, and maintain software for Radar and Electronic Warfare systems.
• Develop application-level software using C++, Python, and Qt for embedded platforms.
• Work on Linux-based embedded systems, integration, and optimization.
• Contribute to software development for mission-critical and safety-critical applications, ensuring compliance with relevant standards (DO-178B/C or equivalent).
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle: requirements analysis, design, coding, unit testing, integration, and verification.
• Conduct and participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards, safety guidelines, and best practices.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, hardware teams, and QA to ensure software meets functional and safety requirements.
• Support debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis of software issues in embedded/real-time environments.
• Support software verification and validation (V&V) activities, including test case development and execution
• Document software requirements, architecture, interfaces, and test procedures to a high standard
Primary Skills (Must Have):
• Strong proficiency in C++ for application-level development on embedded/Linux platforms.
• Working knowledge of Python for data modelling, automation and simulation support
• Good understanding of Linux internals, application development, and debugging on embedded Linux systems.
• Experience in mission-critical and/or safety-critical software development environments.
• Experience with Qt framework for UI/application development to create simulation tools and test tools for embedded platforms.
• Strong understanding of software development best practices, coding standards, and code review processes.
• Familiarity with version control systems, build tools, and embedded debugging/testing tools.
• Good analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
Secondary Skills (Good to Have:
• Experience developing software for Radar and/or Electronic Warfare (EW) systems, including algorithm development for Signal processing, Data Processing and Clustering algorithms.
• Exposure to or working knowledge of DO-178B/C (or equivalent safety-critical software standards such as MIL-STD, ISO 26262, etc.).
• Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) or real-time constraints in Linux.
• Knowledge of signal & data processing concepts relevant to Radar/EW systems.
• Familiarity with software configuration management and DO-178B/C certification artifacts (SRS, SDD, test procedures, traceability matrices).
• Exposure to static analysis tools (LDRA, etc), MISRA C++ guidelines, or similar coding compliance
• Agile/Scrum: Comfortable working in an Agile development environment
