Manual QA Tester

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Manual QA Tester based in India.

As a Manual QA Tester, you’ll play a key role in validating the frontend experience of a complex web-based onboarding workflow.
You’ll execute structured test scenarios with precision, checking form behavior, validation rules, browser compatibility, and error handling.
Your findings will help identify frontend constraints and create reliable evidence for downstream testing and state-model analysis.
You’ll work with defined test runbooks while maintaining clear, reproducible documentation of every defect and observed behavior.
The role is highly detail-oriented and well suited to someone who enjoys structured processes and data-entry-heavy web applications.
You’ll collaborate with QA leads and development teams to surface edge cases, improve coverage, and strengthen the overall quality of the testing process.
This is a fully remote freelance opportunity for a three-week project, with potential for full-time employment depending on performance and project needs.

• Execute manual test cases strictly according to documented test runbooks, ensuring all required steps are completed consistently and deviations are appropriately flagged.
• Perform cross-browser UI testing to validate layout, functionality, boundary conditions, and frontend behavior across supported browsers and devices.
• Validate client-side form rules, including character-length limits, format and regex-style validation, required-field enforcement, and behavior across text fields, dropdowns, radio buttons, and other inputs.
• Verify UI states triggered by validation outcomes, including error messages or banners, conditional states, and action buttons that remain disabled until required fields pass validation.
• Inspect the DOM and browser behavior, capturing screenshots and error states with clear, reproducible documentation.
• Track test execution status and maintain organized records of screenshots, logs, error traces, and other evidence for defect tracking and audit purposes.
• Escalate boundary and edge-case failures to senior QA or development teams with sufficient supporting detail.
• Execute structured walkthroughs across defined onboarding personas and document field limits, validation patterns, conditional states, error states, decision points, and other frontend constraints.
• Collaborate with QA leads to refine test runbooks when recurring issues or coverage gaps are identified.
• Consolidate findings into structured frontend constraint documentation and evidence sets, maintaining traceability between observed behavior, persona, test step, and captured evidence.

Requirements

• Proven experience in manual QA testing, preferably in a frontend or UI-focused environment involving multi-field forms.
• Demonstrated ability to follow and execute structured test runbooks accurately and consistently.
• Hands-on experience with cross-browser testing tools and techniques, including platforms such as BrowserStack and native browser developer tools.
• Working knowledge of DOM structures and browser developer tools for inspecting and capturing frontend error states.
• Familiarity with client-side validation concepts, including field-length limits, format and regex validation, required fields, and conditional UI states.
• Strong attention to detail, process discipline, and organized documentation habits.
• Basic understanding of UI/UX boundary conditions and how they can manifest as defects.
• Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and reproducible bug reports.
• Ability to create structured testing evidence that can be reviewed and reused by senior QA or SDET professionals.
• Experience testing complex onboarding, registration, account-creation, or other multi-step workflows is preferred.
