Workday Tester

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute comprehensive test plans, test scripts, and test cases for Workday functional and integration testing.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end (E2E) testing across Workday modules (HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Time Tracking, Recruiting, Compensation, or Finance, as applicable).
• Validate business processes, configuration changes, EIBs, and integrations (Workday Studio, Core Connectors, PECI, Cloud Connect) against functional specifications.
• Lead or support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) cycles, including coordination with business stakeholders.
• Log, track, and manage defects through resolution using tools such as JIRA, ServiceNow, or ALM.
• Develop and maintain traceability matrices linking requirements to test coverage.
• Support Workday tenant refreshes, release testing (bi-annual Workday updates), and regression suites.
• Collaborate with functional consultants, business analysts, and technical teams to clarify requirements and validate fixes.
• Document test results, prepare status reports, and support go/no-go decisions for releases and cutover.
• Contribute to test automation efforts where applicable (e.g., using Workday-compatible automation tools).

Required Skills & Experience

• 6+ years of overall QA/testing experience, with significant hands-on experience testing Workday.
• Strong understanding of at least one core Workday module (HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Recruiting, Time Tracking, or Financials).
• Experience testing Workday integrations (EIB, Core Connectors, Workday Studio, PECI/PICOF, Cloud Connect).
• Solid grounding in SDLC/STLC, test planning, test case design, and defect management processes.
• Experience with Workday bi-annual release testing and regression cycles.
• Proficiency with defect/test management tools (JIRA, ServiceNow, ALM/Quality Center, or similar).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret business requirements and functional specs into test scenarios.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable working directly with business stakeholders.
