Principal Engineer-Bridges

WSP India is currently seeking for a dynamic resource for the Principal Engineer position for our Canada Bridges team in Mumbai/Noida. The ideal candidate should be ambitious, dynamic, proactive and demonstrate technical and managerial leadership skills for this role. This position will give the successful applicant the opportunity to lead team with including multi-disciplinary skills; lead on a variety of projects including design-bid build and alternative-delivery projects, The selected Principal Engineer will work alongside our Canadian Managers (Eastern; Quebec and Western Canada) and the local T&I lead on the technical outputs of the team. The position will report to the Bridge Lead in GCC.

• Lead the design and delivery of bridges, interchanges, retaining structures, underpasses, and other transportation-related structures.
• Undertake and supervise structural analysis, design calculations, reports, specifications, and technical submissions.
• Review and approve engineering designs to ensure compliance with project requirements, industry best practices, and applicable design standards.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and designers within the team.
• Contribute to design innovation, value engineering, and constructability reviews.
• Ensure all designs comply with local authority requirements and international codes and standards.
• Project management, technical leadership and timely delivery of technical outputs from inception to completion with a range of internal colleagues including:
• Interfacing with multi-disciplinary project teams; program and financial management
• Mentoring team members towards professional accreditation or equivalent
• Monitor and review team capability in the use of the required standards, processes and software tools and, with technical colleagues, identify training required
• Ensure process and governance such that all projects comply with Health and Safety, CDM and Quality Assurance Standards.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Educated to Bachelor / Master’s degree level in Civil Engineering/Structural Engineering.
• Chartered/Professional Engineer status of a recognised professional institution. (e.g. PE, P.Eng. / C.Eng) or demonstrating progression towards achieving or ability to acquire Professional Engineer Licence with any of the Canadian Provinces.
• Seasoned professional with at least 12 years’ diverse experience in infrastructure design, project management, business development and project delivery or in leadership in a consulting engineering environment.
• Continually strive to develop and increase skills in MIDAS, CSi, SofiSTIK Analysis,AI tools supported by company.
