Role:  Firmware Test Engineer

Reporting to:  Lead Software Test Engineer

About the Team and the Role:

As Firmware Test Engineer you will be an integral part of the Product Validation team where you will play a key role in ensuring software quality of Motor controller ECU firmware and its interaction with other ECUs by simulating user scenarios while also experiencing first hand new features where you will play the role of the “first customer” and make a difference by providing constructive and interesting feedback.

Responsibilities:

● Test plan creation, test setup development , test execution, test result data

analytics,bug reporting and test report generation

● Motor controller ECU testing

● CAN/UDS testing

● Bootloader testing

● Test Automation using Python / NI Labview

● Deep dive and assist development team in root causing issues

● Execute testing at component and system level

● Black and white box testing

Experience and Qualifications:

● Engineering degree in ECE/EEE

● 1-3 years of experience in testing firmware testing in electric vehicle platforms

or ECUs

Must have Competencies:

● Knowledge about testing Automotive ECUs(preferably driveline -

motor/transmission ECUs) through NI and Python based automation

frameworks

● Knowledge of CAN log measurement tools(CANape/CANoe/PCAN/NIXNET)

● Understanding of CAN, UDS communication protocol

● Familiar with Microcontroller/Microprocessor/DSP Architecture – Registers,

Bus, PWM, DMA, watchdog, ADC,DAC, Timers, etc.

● Extreme ownership mindset

● Of a tinkering mindset to dabble deep into features and implementations to

open up automation possibilities

● Clarity in thought and communication when providing feedback

● Detail oriented who can find needle in a haystack

● Writing crystal clear solution documents that enables collaboration
