Job Purpose	Responsible for understanding and translating business requirements into efficient, scalable, and reliable database solutions through the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of database tables, schemas, stored procedures, functions, views, and other associated database objects. Ensure optimal data storage, retrieval, and processing capabilities to support business applications and operational requirements. Drive database performance optimization and operational efficiency through effective indexing strategies, query optimization, execution plan analysis. Ensure data accuracy, integrity, availability, and retention in accordance with organizational compliance policies, regulatory requirements, and business needs. Manage scheduled database jobs, proactively monitor execution, troubleshoot failures, and provide timely production support to ensure high availability and business continuity. Design, develop, and optimize Azure Databricks notebooks and data transformation workflows to extract, process, transform, and load data from enterprise data sources into respective portal databases for consumption by downstream applications. Ensure data quality, consistency, processing efficiency, and scalability while implementing appropriate validation, exception handling, and monitoring mechanisms. Ensure controlled, reliable, and standardized deployment of database objects and related data engineering components across development, testing, and production environments through established CI/CD pipelines and release management processes. Adhere to version control, code review, testing, change management, and deployment governance standards to minimize production risks and maintain consistency across environments. Take ownership of timely and high-quality delivery of database development and data engineering initiatives through effective collaboration with business stakeholders, application development teams, infrastructure teams, and other technology partners.
Duties and Responsibilities	A- Minimum required Accountabilities for this role • Strong hands-on experience in database development. • Good with writing stored procedures, functions, table scripts. • Good with joins, constraints • Knowledge of database Indexes & performance tuning. • Should have SSIS/ADF or Azure Data Bricks knowledge/experience. • Should be able to review the code written by junior developers guide and rectify if code not written as per the standard and required functionality. B- Additional Accountabilities pertaining to the role ? Able to convert functional requirement into technical with minimal support. ? Should be available for Production support as & when required. ? Should be capable to guide the team/individual on requirement basis. ? Communicate effectively with stakeholders & cross function teams. ? Excellent spoken and written English Communication. ? Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills ? Good attitude towards corporate environment. ? Good Team player. ? Energetic, self-motivated, and self-sufficient in accomplishing tasks. ? Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Key Decisions / Dimensions	• Should be able to decide when to delegate task to junior developers and when to do self-development.
Major Challenges	• Will have to gain knowledge and enhance technical skill set to carry out day-to-day tasks. • Will need to handle Support tasks without impacting development timeline.
Required Qualifications and Experience	a) Qualifications 4 to 6 years of experience in MSSQL/PostgreSQL database development. b) Work Experience • Knowledge & hands-on experience in writing stored procedures, functions, view, table scripts. • Sound knowledge on RDBMS • Good with joins, constraints, indexes. • Positive attitude, Hard Worker and good team player. • Excellent Communication and Leadership Skills • Must have SSIS/ADF or Azure Data Bricks knowledge/experience.
