Graduate Engineer Trainee -R&D Purchase

Setting up the weekly/ monthly plan.

·Conducting order review and planning of parts based on consumption.

·Preparing Purchase Order.

·Dealing with vendors for R&D material purchasing.

·Maintain inventory as per decided target cost.

·Responsible for the development of metal, Machining, plastic & other tooled up components according to drawing within time frame as per project.

·Study the drawing for suitable manufacturing process & giving it to suitable vendor for development.

·Costing for new components, Enquiries for quotation, comparison, negotiation & finalization of product requirement and commercial with vendor.

·Supplier selection & specification review with supplier to meet requirement.

·Monitoring & follow –up with supplier for regular material & development parts.

·System & Process audit with QA team as per control plan.

·Analyzing quality problem in brought out part & resolving them.

·Getting PPAP documents from vendors & approval from the QA departments.

·Responsible Items to be purchased like – Plastic Metal, Cabinet Electronics, Components, Capacitors, ICS, Moshfet, Metal Oxide Semiconductor, IGBT, Diode, Power Supplies, power electronics components.

·Expedite samples, parts and tooling.

·Applies engineering, manufacturing, and quality expertise to reduce material costs and meet program requirements

·Responsible for the overall prototype supplier performance related to quality, cost, and delivery.

·Evaluates supplier capabilities and processes.

·Performs supplier audits and surveys for sourcing selection.

·Follow up the supply issues, work with suppliers on continuous improvement.

·Communicate project status and costs at the NPD weekly meeting.

·Ensures purchasing cost targets, timing requirements and technical requirements are met from the supply base.

·Send RFQ packages to suppliers and negotiate cost.

·Manage MOQ’s and lead-times (for both samples and production).

·Schedule meetings between engineering and potential suppliers to discuss cost reduction initiatives.

·Works closely with the Product Development team to investigate required technologies and suppliers to support new prototype program launches

·Liaison between the suppliers and engineers with continuous improvements.
