Role

A Quality Assistant in a plant plays a crucial role in ensuring that products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements. Their job responsibilities typically include:

1. Quality Control & Inspection

  • Perform regular quality checks on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
  • Conduct visual inspections and functional tests to identify defects or deviations.
  • Record and report quality issues to supervisors and suggest corrective actions.

2. Compliance & Documentation

  • Maintain quality records, inspection reports, and test results.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (ISO, GMP, HACCP, etc.) and company policies.
  • Assist in preparing reports for audits and regulatory inspections.

3. SAP / Quality Management System (QMS) Support

  • Enter quality data into SAP or other QMS software for tracking and analysis.
  • Generate reports on non-conformance issues and production quality trends.
  • Support the implementation of quality procedures within SAP.

4. Process Monitoring & Improvement

  • Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and suggest solutions to prevent defects.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action implementation.

5. Training & Support

  • Assist in training production staff on quality standards and best practices.
  • Ensure workers understand quality guidelines and follow proper procedures.

6. Safety & Hygiene Compliance

  • Ensure that health, safety, and hygiene regulations are followed in the production area.
  • Report any safety hazards or violations to supervisors.

7. Collaboration & Coordination

  • Work closely with production, maintenance, and warehouse teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Communicate quality concerns and updates to relevant departments.
