Jr. Failure investigation Analyst/Engineer

The Failure Investigation Analyst is relied upon as an expert with in-depth technical knowledge of all aspects of Cepheid products. The FI Analyst is responsible for performing investigations as well as inspection of material to determine root causes of various failures. Documentation of investigations in compliance with Cepheid policy is a requirement for this position. To be successful in this role it is important to be service minded, to have ability to work in a cross-functional environment and to have a genuine interest in laboratory work as well as analytical thinking. The role is expected to work with a strong quality focus, perform problem solving and support process development as needed. The FI Analyst evaluates and implements corrective actions to guide continuous process improvement.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Supports manufacturing, and in-process testing failure investigations of product or process.
• Supports failure investigation activities from customer complaints, statistical process trending or stability studies.
• Supports improvement projects coming out of root cause investigations.
• Participates in brainstorming and other root cause analysis techniques.
• Participates in PSPs (Problem Solving Processes), Daily Management, 5S and other DBS tools.
• Designs and executes experiments as part of investigations.
• Works with cross functional teams to provide knowledge and support to sustaining projects.
• Use product software and other software tools as part of testing.
• Continuously documents progress during investigations and prepares final reports.
• Analyzes historical data to identify abnormal trends.
• Generate failure trending and analysis for team review
• Execute Labelling Operations for IVD and Sample reagent Manufacturing.
• Supports test method Validation and its associated investigations.
• Perform laboratory testing as a part of investigations.
