What You'll Do: 

• Architect and design scalable, maintainable backend systems; lead code reviews and enforce quality standards
• Mentor and develop team members; provide technical guidance on complex problems and design decisions
• Establish and evolve engineering practices: testing strategies, deployment processes, monitoring, and observability
• Collaborate with product and infrastructure teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions
• Evaluate and recommend tools, frameworks, and technologies; manage technical debt strategically
• Hands-on contribution: lead implementation of critical features, performance optimizations, and architecture improvements
• Champion best practices in security, scalability, and operational excellence

What We're Looking For: 

Core Experience

Minimum 8+ years of professional software development experience with a strong foundation in:

• Java/JEE (Spring, SpringBoot – hands-on, production experience required)
• Node.js/JavaScript
• Design patterns, and application architecture
• Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and collaborative development practices

 

Backend & Data Layer Expertise

• Advanced SQL, data modeling, and database optimization (Oracle, PostgreSQL or equivalent)
• RESTful API design and JSON serialization best practices
• Performance tuning, optimization strategies, and caching architectures (Redis, Couchbase, Oracle Coherence, or equivalent)
• Protocol implementation experience (Kafka, SFTP, HTTP/S, message queues)

 

Testing, Quality, & DevOps

• Test-driven development expertise: unit testing frameworks, integration testing, and performance testing tools (JMeter)
• Hands-on CI/CD pipeline experience: Jenkins, Bitbucket
• Infrastructure and container concepts; AWS services exposure (EC2, RDS, Lambda, S3, or equivalent cloud platforms)

 

Leadership & Influence

• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and elevate team technical capability
• Experience defining and enforcing architectural standards, code quality, and technical best practices
• Strong communication skills: ability to translate complex technical concepts for stakeholders and collaborate across teams
• Track record of technical decision-making, technology selection, and design reviews

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with microservices architecture and API gateway patterns
• Exposure to event-driven architectures and stream processing
• Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code
• Leadership in large-scale system migrations or legacy modernization efforts
• Familiarity with security hardening, encryption, and compliance considerations
• Agile maturity: experience coaching teams or driving process improvement
• Background in high-throughput, low-latency system optimization
