Job description
Roles & Responsibilities
Project & Program Leadership
- Lead end-to-end delivery of enterprise Data Engineering, Analytics, AI, and Databricks programs.
- Drive project planning, scope management, estimation, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
- Manage multiple workstreams across Data Engineering, Database, Cloud, BI, and AI teams.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned to business objectives.
Databricks & Data Platform Delivery
- Lead delivery of Databricks Lakehouse implementations, data modernization, migration, and analytics initiatives.
- Collaborate with Architects and Engineering teams on Databricks, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, ETL/ELT pipelines, and Lakehouse architectures.
- Monitor project health, delivery KPIs, platform adoption, governance, and operational readiness.
- Drive execution of Azure Databricks, AWS Databricks, and cloud-native data solutions.
Database & Data Management
- Manage large-scale database modernization, migration, integration, and optimization initiatives.
- Oversee SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake, or similar enterprise database platforms.
- Ensure data quality, security, governance, backup, recovery, compliance, and performance standards are maintained.
- Coordinate database architecture reviews, capacity planning, and production deployment activities.
Stakeholder & Team Management
- Act as the primary interface between business stakeholders, delivery teams, vendors, and leadership.
- Facilitate requirement gathering, solution discussions, sprint planning, steering committee reviews, and status reporting.
- Manage cross-functional teams including Solution Architects, Data Engineers, Database Developers, DevOps Engineers, BI Developers, and QA teams.
- Drive Agile delivery practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
Governance, Risk & Quality Management
- Establish project governance frameworks, RAID logs, escalation mechanisms, and quality controls.
- Ensure adherence to SDLC, Agile, DevOps, security, and compliance standards.
- Track program metrics, resource utilization, dependencies, and delivery milestones.
- Drive issue resolution and mitigate delivery risks proactively.
Pre-Sales & Strategic Contributions
- Support solution proposals, effort estimation, project planning, and client presentations.
- Participate in customer workshops, discovery sessions, and technical roadmap discussions.
- Provide strategic recommendations for data platform modernization and AI-driven transformation initiatives.

Role
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 10+ years of overall IT experience with at least 5+ years in Project/Program Management roles.
- Strong experience delivering Databricks-based Data Engineering, Analytics, AI, or Cloud Transformation projects.
- Solid understanding of Databricks, Spark, Lakehouse Architecture, Delta Lake, ETL/ELT, Data Warehousing, and Database Management systems.
- Experience managing database-focused projects involving Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake, or equivalent platforms.
- Good understanding of Azure/AWS cloud ecosystem and modern data platforms.
- Experience working with Agile, Scrum, SAFe, or hybrid delivery frameworks.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, leadership, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to manage large, distributed delivery teams and multiple concurrent programs.
- Experience in cost management, forecasting, resource planning, and vendor coordination.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps practices, Git, Azure DevOps, Jira, and release governance.
- Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, presentation, and client-facing skills.
