Role: Senior Lead Engineer

Delivery ownership:

• Develop high-quality software design and architecture for Java-based applications.

• Implement and maintain Java applications, collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Work on bug fixing and improving application performance.
• Design, develop and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code.
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems.
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization.

Must-have skills and experience:

• 11-13 years of experience in Java development with expertise in Springboot, Microservices, High-Level Design (HLD), Low-Level Design (LLD), Java streams, multithreading, and other relevant skill sets.
• Strong analytical skills and experience in implementing Microservices.
• Proficiency in Core Java, AWS, unit testing frameworks like JUnit, and experience with databases such as MySQL and MongoDB.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies like JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Angular, and jQuery.
• Previous experience in building scalable backend applications and working with REST APIs.
• Knowledge of software development best practices, design patterns, and frameworks.
• Experience in QA automation, using tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, and Protractor.
• Excellent understanding of architecture frameworks like Spring Boot and database concepts.
• Ability to adapt to evolving technology trends and continuously improve existing practices.

Nice to have:

• Telecommunications or contact-center domain experience — IVR, CCaaS, routing, agent desktop.
• A forward-deployed or solutions-engineering background, where engineers are embedded in the customer's environment to deliver an outcome.

What this role is not:

Not a programme or project manager. The POD has a dedicated TPM who owns programme mechanics, cross-POD dependencies and reporting. This role owns the engineering team and the outcome.

Not an individual-contributor architect. Engineers report to you. People leadership is a first-class part of the job, not an overhead on it.
