SMT Production Engineer

The Production SMT Engineer is responsible for monitoring production operations, improving plant efficiency, ensuring quality compliance, coordinating cross-functional teams, and supporting continuous improvement in PCBA and SMT manufacturing processes. The role involves production planning, quality control, SAP coordination, documentation management, and compliance with automotive quality standards such as IATF 16949.

Role

Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct daily CFT meetings and review action points.
• Monitor schedule adherence and production plans.
• Review ILR status and ensure timely closure.
• Monitor plant efficiency and productivity levels.
• Identify low-efficiency operators and initiate corrective actions.
• Review and update documents such as Document Control Plan, SOPs, and related procedures as required.
• Coordinate facilities-related activities with supporting departments.
• Coordinate IATF-related activities and ensure compliance requirements.
• Coordinate OHSAS-related activities and safety compliance.
• Ensure implementation and monitoring of TPS activities.
• Manage PMI activities and follow-ups.
• Perform SAP BOM corrections as required.
• Execute SAP norms corrections and updates.
• Close stop advice notes within defined timelines.
• Ensure shift-wise NC closure and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with CFT for new product development and implementation.

Technical Skills

• Experience in PCBA manufacturing with exposure to SMT processes.
• Understanding of customer requirements and specifications.
• Knowledge of quality problem-solving tools such as 8D methodology, 5 Whys analysis, and Cause-and-Effect diagrams.
• Expertise in overall line efficiency improvement.
• Knowledge of IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, AIAG, and IATF 16949 quality standards.
• Understanding of automotive electronics products.
• Ability to interpret diagrams and apply statistical analysis methodologies.
• Proficiency in electronic equipment handling.
• Strong understanding of electronic product manufacturing processes.
