Mid-Level Techno-Functional Analyst — Development (Telecom Domain)

Role Purpose
A hands-on engineering role responsible for designing, building, and maintaining features on a cloud-based SaaS billing and subscription management platform serving enterprise telecom clients. This person owns feature delivery end-to-end — from technical design through implementation, testing support, and production stability — while working closely with domain analysts and Product Managers to translate telecom billing requirements (subscriptions, recurring billing, invoicing, payments, taxation) into robust, scalable code.

This role suits an experienced developer comfortable working independently on complex business logic, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating directly with cross-functional and client-facing teams in a B2B SaaS environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain features across the platform, with a focus on billing, subscription lifecycle, invoicing, payments, and reporting modules.
• Translate functional specifications from Domain Analysts/BAs into technical designs, raising clarifications or edge cases proactively.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and participate actively in code reviews.
• Debug and resolve production issues, including data/billing discrepancies, in a timely manner.
• Design and optimize database schemas and queries for performance and data integrity, particularly around high-volume transactional billing data.
• Build and integrate APIs for internal modules and third-party/client system integrations (payment gateways, telecom OSS/BSS systems, etc.).
• Collaborate with QA on test planning and support UAT cycles by triaging and fixing defects.
• Mentor junior developers through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance.
• Contribute to technical decisions on architecture, scalability, and platform enhancements.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, estimation, retrospectives) and provide realistic delivery estimates.

Must-Have Skills & Experience

• 3–6 years of professional software development experience, with at least one significant stint building or maintaining a SaaS/enterprise product (billing, subscription management, ERP, or similar transactional systems preferred).
• Strong proficiency in at least one modern backend language/framework (e.g., .NET, Java/Spring, Node.js, PHP) — specific stack is flexible, but demonstrated depth in one is required.
• Solid experience with relational databases (schema design, query optimization, transactions) — MySQL, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs; understanding of integration patterns.
• Practical understanding of SaaS/multi-tenant application concepts.
• Working knowledge of billing-domain concepts sufficient to build correct logic: subscription lifecycle, recurring billing, invoicing, payments, basic taxation — this can be deepened on the job with support from Domain Analysts and Finance (Payment posting, reversal, customer ledger, SOA, etc.)
• Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and Agile delivery practices. SAAS Product such as GWS, AWS, Azure , Microsoft , IAAS
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, especially around data accuracy in financial/billing contexts.
• Clear communication skills — able to work directly with Product, QA, and Domain Analysts without heavy hand-holding.
• Proficient in use of AI tools and prompts which can support fast and quality deliveries.

Nice-to-Have

• Prior experience in telecom, IT services, or marketplace platforms.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Infra as a service or GCP) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Exposure to payment gateway integrations or financial reconciliation systems.
• Familiarity with Microsoft CSP / Microsoft NCE or cloud marketplace billing concepts.
• Experience with message queues/event-driven architecture for handling high-volume billing events.
• Automated testing experience (unit, integration).

Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
