Junior Consultant-Anesthesiology & Pain Management

Job Summary

To provide safe and effective anaesthesia care to patients undergoing surgical and diagnostic procedures, ensuring appropriate pre-operative assessment, intra-operative anaesthesia management and post-operative monitoring in coordination with the surgical and critical care teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-anaesthesia assessments, review medical history, investigations and identify potential anaesthesia-related risks.

• Administer anaesthesia for surgical procedures as per clinical protocols and under appropriate supervision.

• Monitor patients' vital signs and maintain haemodynamic stability during procedures.

• Provide post-operative care, pain management and recovery monitoring.

• Manage anaesthesia-related emergencies, including airway management and resuscitation, as per hospital protocols.

• Coordinate with surgeons, nursing staff, intensivists and other clinical teams to ensure patient safety.

• Maintain accurate anaesthesia records, clinical documentation and informed consent.

• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control practices and patient safety standards.

• Participate in departmental meetings, clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives and training activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Qualification: MD/DNB in Anaesthesiology or DA from a recognized institution.

• Experience: Relevant experience in anaesthesia practice;

• Valid registration with the respective State Medical Council/NMC, as applicable.
