Junior Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) – AI Engineering

We are looking for an enthusiastic, technically curious, and highly proactive Junior Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to join our product engineering team and help accelerate software development through AI-driven engineering practices.

The role focuses on using AI coding agents, large language models (LLMs), and modern developer tools to build, enhance, test, and deploy software products faster. The ideal candidate should combine sound programming fundamentals with a willingness to experiment, learn new technologies, and solve real-world engineering problems.

Role

Key Responsibilities

1. AI-Accelerated Software Development

• Use AI coding assistants and autonomous coding agents to accelerate feature development, debugging, refactoring, and code documentation.
• Translate product requirements and technical specifications into executable development tasks and working software.
• Develop effective prompts and workflows for AI agents to generate, review, and improve code.
• Validate AI-generated code for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability rather than relying on generated output without verification.

2. Rapid Prototyping & Product Engineering

• Build prototypes, proof-of-concepts, and functional product features with short turnaround times.
• Work across frontend, backend, APIs, and databases as required by the project.
• Adapt to different programming languages, frameworks, and technology stacks based on product requirements.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and architects to convert prototypes into production-ready implementations.

3. AI Tools & Engineering Workflows

• Experiment with AI development tools, agentic workflows, and multi-step coding automation.
• Assist in integrating LLM APIs and AI capabilities into development workflows and product features.
• Explore automated code generation, test generation, code review, and documentation workflows.
• Identify opportunities to reduce repetitive engineering work through automation.

4. Quality & Delivery

• Write, execute, and maintain unit tests and integration tests for developed features.
• Use Git, pull requests, and CI/CD pipelines to support reliable software delivery.
• Debug application issues and conduct root-cause analysis with guidance from senior engineers.
• Follow secure coding practices and established engineering standards.

5. Collaboration & Continuous Learning

• Work closely with Product Owners, Technical Architects, Software Engineers, QA, and SRE teams.
• Communicate progress, technical challenges, and blockers proactively.
• Document successful AI workflows, reusable prompts, and engineering practices.
• Continuously evaluate new AI tools and techniques that can improve engineering productivity.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 0–3 years of experience in software development, engineering internships, or relevant project work.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, C#, or Java.
• Understanding of programming fundamentals, data structures, APIs, debugging, and version control.
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative software development workflows.
• Basic knowledge of web applications, REST APIs, and relational or NoSQL databases.
• Demonstrable interest in AI-assisted software development and modern engineering tools.
• Ability to learn unfamiliar technologies quickly and work through technical problems independently.

Preferred Skills

• Hands-on experience with AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar coding agents.
• Exposure to React, Next.js, Node.js, .NET, or other modern application development frameworks.
• Familiarity with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, and structured AI workflows.
• Exposure to automated testing, Docker, cloud platforms, and CI/CD.
• Personal projects, GitHub repositories, hackathon participation, or demonstrable AI-assisted development work.
