Job description
Job Summary:
- Design & development of metal components, by technical calculation and wear life analysis.
- To study various metals and application for variety of conditions to better understand the metal's characteristics.
- To identify methods to understand the wear characteristics of metal.
- To study the properties of metals and then apply their findings to practical applications, such as metal component production.
- Able to perform wear tests in the laboratory, or in the field to withstand natural conditions like extreme heat, cyclic load etc.
- Development of 3D models, Virtual Analysis & 2D Drawing in Solid Edge.

Role
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Calculations for the design of wear steel parts.
- Design of alloy steel & high wear metal.
- Steel wear Design calculation as per Indian standards
- Selection of materials & alloys for usage of high abrasive environment.
- Preparation of 3D models and release of 2D drawings for solution manufacturing
- Technical clarification to internal customers, vendors & suppliers.
- Resolving fields failures
- Co-ordination for Proto Testing.
Must have Skills:
- The wearing parts design requirement of an equipment/ machine such as the wear plates, wear rings, ground engaging parts etc.
- Solution for severe wear mode of metal components.
- Knowledge of particles and how they relate to the mode of wear (tribology) permits a trained analyst to determine the wear status in a machine.
- Exposure of lab testing report analysis.
- Virtual analysis of wear life for metal or alloy component through software.
Nice to have Skills
- Knowledge about wear analysis of metal components.
- Co-ordination for Proto Assembly at shop floor and Testing.
General Activities
- Activities specified as part of the KPIs with relevant targets and weightages shall be performed and recorded on PMS tool/data sources connected to the KPIs periodically.
- Any other activities unspecified and which is not part of the above list shall be performed as assigned by the Reporting Manager.
