Service Engineer - Concrete Equipment Installation, Repair & Service

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Service Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of concrete equipment, ensuring that all machinery operates at peak efficiency. This role will involve working with both new and existing equipment, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and providing expert service to our clients across various sites.

Role

Key Responsibilities:

1. Installation of Concrete Equipment:

• Set up and commission concrete equipment including, concrete pumps, batching plants, and allied machinery.
• Ensure proper calibration, alignment, and functionality of the installed equipment.
• Provide customer training on how to operate and maintain equipment post-installation.

2. Maintenance & Servicing:

• Perform routine maintenance on concrete equipment, including inspections, lubrications, and part replacements.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues in the machinery.
• Respond to emergency service calls promptly, diagnosing and repairing issues in a timely manner to minimize equipment downtime.

3. Repairs & Troubleshooting:

• Diagnose faults in concrete equipment, identifying root causes of problems and applying effective solutions.
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to pinpoint and repair issues in electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical components.
• Replace or repair defective parts using appropriate tools and techniques, ensuring long-term reliability and performance.

4. Customer Support:

• Provide technical support and advice to customers, offering guidance on best practices for equipment use and maintenance.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through professional interactions, timely responses, and effective solutions.
• Keep customers informed about the progress of repairs and maintenance schedules.

5. Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain detailed records of service activities, including equipment repairs, parts replaced, and service times.
• Complete service reports and submit to management as required.
• Ensure that all equipment service history is logged accurately for future reference and warranty claims.

6. Health & Safety Compliance:

• Adhere to safety regulations and practices when working on-site or in the workshop.
• Ensure that all equipment is compliant with local regulations and safety standards.
• Use appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment) and enforce safety protocols during the installation and maintenance of equipment.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Education:
  • A degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Additional certifications in concrete equipment maintenance and repair are a plus.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience in the installation, service, or maintenance of heavy machinery, preferably concrete equipment.
  • Strong experience with hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Technical Skills:
  • Expertise in diagnosing and repairing concrete mixing equipment, batching plants, concrete pumps, and related machinery.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems, as well as general mechanical maintenance.
  • Familiarity with PLC systems and other control technologies used in concrete machinery.
• Soft Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with clients and team members.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.

Additional Information:

• Travel: This position requires frequent travel to customer sites for installations and repairs.

Work Hours: The role will require accommodate urgent service requests as per customer requirements.

Education/Qualification

Diploma/B.Tech / B.E (Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering)
