Job description
We are seeking a Python FastAPI Developer to build and maintain the backend for a manufacturing quality analytics platform. The role involves developing scalable REST APIs using Python/FastAPI, integrating with curated data marts, implementing data validation and transformation, and ensuring performance, security, reliability, and observability. Experience with Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, API Gateway, real-time/data-intensive applications, and enterprise API design is highly desirable. This is a specialist backend role working closely with Data Engineering, React, and AI/ML teams.

Role
- Develop scalable REST APIs using Python, FastAPI, and Pydantic, with robust validation, filtering, pagination, and error handling.
- Design and optimize parameterized SQL queries, including complex joins, aggregations, CTEs, and large datasets.
- Optimize API performance using async/parallel processing, caching, connection pooling, and concurrency.
- Implement data transformations, aggregations, and business rules with appropriate handling of missing or unavailable data.
- Implement authentication, authorization, SSO/JWT, entitlement, and plant-level access controls.
- Establish production logging, metrics, tracing, health checks, and monitoring using tools such as OpenTelemetry.
- Work closely with Data Engineering, React, and AI/ML teams to deliver reliable and high-performing backend services.
Education/Qualification
BE / B.Tech / MCA / M.Sc in Computer Science, Information Technology or an equivalent discipline
