Role Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Android applications using Kotlin and Java.
- Build responsive, user-friendly, and high-performance application interfaces using modern Android development frameworks.
- Develop UI components using Jetpack Compose and/or XML-based layouts.
- Integrate REST APIs and third-party SDKs into Android applications.
- Implement asynchronous programming using Kotlin Coroutines and Flow.
- Follow MVVM, Clean Architecture, and other established Android development best practices.
- Use dependency injection frameworks such as Hilt or Dagger.
- Identify, debug, and resolve application issues to ensure stability and reliability.
- Optimize application performance, responsiveness, memory usage, and battery consumption.
- Collaborate with Product, UI/UX, Backend, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver quality software.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, testing, and production issue resolution.
- Contribute to application development for Android TV and OTT platforms as required by project needs.
What We're Looking For
- 2–4 years of professional Android development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin and good working knowledge of Java.
- Solid understanding of Android SDK, application lifecycle, activities, fragments, services, and app architecture.
- Hands-on experience with REST API integration, JSON parsing, and third-party library integration.
- Familiarity with Jetpack components, including ViewModel, LiveData or StateFlow, and Navigation.
- Experience with Kotlin Coroutines and Flow for asynchronous operations.
- Understanding of MVVM or Clean Architecture principles.
- Familiarity with Git, debugging tools, and Android Studio.
- Knowledge of application performance optimization, memory management, and troubleshooting.
- Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
Good to Have
- Experience developing applications for Android TV or other TV-based platforms.
- Exposure to OTT, video streaming, or media applications.
- Familiarity with Media3 / ExoPlayer or other media player SDKs.
- Understanding of HLS/DASH streaming protocols and Widevine DRM.
- Knowledge of Jetpack Compose for TV, Android TV Leanback libraries, D-pad navigation, and focus management.
- Familiarity with Hilt/Dagger, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
- Experience working on applications deployed across multiple Android devices or form factors.
