Job Description – Liferay Backend Developer
Role: Backend Developer (Liferay Portal)
Experience: 5–10 Years
Location: Chennai / Bangalore / Hyderabad / Bhubaneswar / Kolkata
Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Mid-Level Liferay Developer to join our dynamic development team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in designing, developing, and maintaining Liferay-based portal applications. You will collaborate with business analysts, architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions aligned with business requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and customize Liferay Portal applications (portlets, themes, hooks, etc.)
Implement new features and enhancements based on business needs
Integrate Liferay with backend systems using REST APIs, SOAP, and middleware
Develop and maintain custom workflows using Liferay Workflow and Kaleo
Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application and portal performance
Collaborate with QA, UX/UI, and business stakeholders
Participate in code reviews and maintain technical documentation
Stay updated with latest Liferay features and best practices
Required Technical Skills:
Strong experience in Liferay Portal (versions 6.x, 7.x preferred)
Proficiency in Java, J2EE, Servlets, JSP, and Spring Framework
Hands-on experience in Portlet development (MVC, MVCPortlet, Vaadin)
Knowledge of Liferay Service Builder and OSGi module development
Experience in API integrations (REST/SOAP)
Strong understanding of database design and SQL (MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL)
Familiarity with portal security, SSO, and LDAP integration
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
